A Long time Ago.......

I began work on a Star Wars mod for Distant Worlds...

Today I made plans to complete that mod.

I had begun a Star Wars mod for Distant Worlds many years ago and had put that on hold as news came out of Distant Worlds 2.

However, the modding for Distant Worlds 2 is not at the stage that will allow me to create a Star Wars mod there.
in 2023.

This mod will take place around the time of Episode IV - A New Hope as the Empire under the control of Palpatine begins spreading it's forces across the galaxy.

The mod has been restored from the archives and did a quick play-through to check where I was at.

Here is the screenshot for the Rebel Alliance with of course Princess Leia as the leader.....

When I last worked on the mod the disney movies had come out so I had included a number of characters from these movies.

I am thinking of removing those characters only seen in the Disney movies and replacing them with charcaters seen in the Disney TV shows.

This means removing the following from the list above.

Disciples of the Whills,
Drabatan,
Iakaru,
Talpini,
Teedo,
Utai,

In the above screenshots you can see Leia is in the system of Bendeluum.

Bendeluum was a planet in the Anoat sector's Bendeluum system which had a small Rebel Alliance cell during the Galactic Civil War. The city planet's underworld was controlled by the golden-skinned Nothoiins which were seen in the UK Star Wars comics in 2013.

Today I have started adding new planets of better quality to the mod.

Now 90 races with 40 of them playable.

The criteria of whether they are playable is whether I had the ability to create 100 different names for each race.
38 races fitted that requirement.

Going through the process of adding all the new races into the mod which involves adding the pictures as well as adding the files for race in formation, character names, policies, and design templates.

Also taking the opportunity to replace the existing race portraits with new pictures.

As well as this I am looking at whether each race is actually a space faring race.

For example, are Gamorreans a race that you would expect to see flying spaceships? We do have the Gamorrean named Voort saBinring in the New Republic as a pilot. However saBinring had been genetically-modified to have a much higher mathematical analysis so he would be the only one capable of flying a ship.

Therefore Gamorreans would have to be ruled out as a race in the mod, yet they will appear in the mod in one way or another.
