windows 10 compatibility testing 2

Post by zakblood »

Operating System: Windows 10 Home Single Language 64-bit (10.0, Build 15063) (15063.rs2_release.170317-1834)

eg the Creators Update build, this is the clean ISO install, so a new operating system, not a upgraded version, which most may use etc

can do full screen or windowed on a maximum size of my default is 1920x1080, not tried or tested any larger or bigger so no idea either if bigger would work or not, but guess any size would in a window [:D]

works right out of the box with settings shown
[&o]

enjoy

Thanks for the nice guide. However...
I did everything as suggested by you, installed WaR from scratch, but when I enter step #9, the option box for "windowed mode" in Close Combat Options is simply missing ! This really puzzles me [&:]
Of course, the WaR then runs, but the colors are totally screwed up, which of course unplayable.
How come the option "windowed mode" is completely absent from the menu ?

old installer maybe?

as look at the dates and version numbers on mine, and if they don't match yours, you will need to update to the latest version before following number 9 etc

piterdevries,

If you do not have the Windowed Mode option then you're running an old version of WaR. Please download the latest update and it should be present.

I hoped this guide and its wonderful set of images would save the day, but no! I am running Windows 10. 64 on an Alienware 17inch screen. Get the game but it is tiny and changing resolutions does nothing. How can you change the size? I find it odd as ‘Cross of Iron’ works fine, which I presume is older, and I had no issues whatsoever. I have a second laptop running Windows 7 Pro and will see what happens on that but a little miffed that this machine doesn’t want to play ball! It would help a lot though if Matrix actually put up the ‘latest’ version to download as I obviously tried to install the earlier .14 and, by doing so, may have put in some little Gremlin...

there are some tips and tricks that windows 10 can use to make it and most older games work in windows 10, with files that come with it, but not installed by default, some help one game or another, so doing them all harms none,

for size issues, what size is it running by default? as report tells all, or just type the default

How to get a DirectX Diagnostic file:

1. click on "START"
2. click "run"
3. type in "dxdiag" and click "OK"
4. check through the tabs and perform all tests
5. click "Save all Information..." and save the text file to a location of your choice

We prefer that DxDiag files be posted as message attachments rather than pasted into the body of the post.

once the report has been made, just attach it to your post as it's a Txt file which is then permitted to attach to the forum.

Many thanks. Getting late in my part of the world so not really in the mood to deal with Microsoft! Will bumble around tomorrow with a fresher head. Again thanks.
