Steam: Launcher Updated

Post by SteveMcClaire »

The Launcher for Cross of Iron, Wacht Am Rhein, and The Longest Day have been updated on Steam. The Steam launch options for these three games can now be used to set the "/d <mod name>" startup option to play with mods under Steam.

That’s good news, thank you!

This will allow Steam CC owners of those games to enjoy the mods available and play non Steam CC mod players.

Hopefully the other Steam CC versions will get an updated launcher soon too.

Saw on Steam that someone downloaded the TLD Meuse installer and that TLD starts the mod fine now after the launcher update!

Steve, any date for the launcher to be updated for the other CC Steam releases?

Be nice to get this for LSA along with the H2H client air strike issue (you found in TLD, I assume LSA is the same?) before the LSA Meuse release....

Missed this post.

Tried tonight and mods are working fine for TLD.

You have to click OK through the /D warning, which then gets you to the launcher application.

4 clicks total.

I don't have an ETA for an updated Steam launcher for LSA but it is 'in the queue.' I will post here when I have more information.

Hi Steve,

Seeing comments on Steam that since the last patch mods are no longer working again???

I have no issue with the Matrix TLD version patched to the latest version and starting mods.

I am able to run the classicCC5 mod using the Steam "Launch Options" setting using /D.

I can't see any new posts about this when I go to the Steam forums for TLD (or any of the other CC games.) Can you send me a URL to the thread? Perhaps I'm looking in the wrong place.

@Tejszd

I am now playing the Stalingrad mod FOR CC:TLD, but since the latest patch this week I can not launch it anymore. Is there any way to help me fix this?

Thanks for the links.

"Failed to initialize Steam" means they're running the game without the Steam client running, or if they do have the Steam client running, Steam itself is preventing the external launch.

Make sure Steam is running. If it is and you're still getting the error, try re-creating the desktop short-cut and see if that works.

The recommended approach is to use the Steam 'Launch option' to add the /D switch to Steam:
- Right click The Longest Day in your Steam Library
- Click "Properties..."
- Select "General"
- Under "Launch Options" enter "/D <path to your mod>"

I will post on the Steam thread to clarify.
