Re: 1944 Market Garden AAR

Is the "German Super Artillery" something Elmer is not able to handle? Elmer artillery sees the off-limits hexes as just that - a hex inside their range?

Re: Earth Loses Gravity. Details at 11:00

Directive 41 starts with 32.3 HRS on May 17, 1942 - 29 turns away x 432 HRS per turn = 12,528 HRS coming. Hurry and issue a directive - no fighting losses, no pestilence, no attrition losses.

It looks like you have a France 1940 thing going on in Finland without the tanks. But then you had to go and ruin the Viipuri-as-the-new-Dunkirk part.

Did somebody forget to tell Elmer to leave the boats at Kronstadt?

Re: Campaign Barbarossa v0.8.1

Very glad you're back and healthy.

This scenario has so much to it. It's really two things; a framework for its scale regarding future East Front scenarios and it is amazing in its scope.

Please two guys skip FITE and offer up an AAR on this.

Geographically you may be behind, but you are not being constantly counter-attacked and ruined by attrition. Plus you know what the winter brings.

Re: Earth Loses Gravity. Details at 11:00

Moving along nicely. You've cracked the Dnepr, Here's Directive 34a for you; Directive No. 34a, issued on 12 August. The missions of Army Group South as follows: 1. To prevent the establishment of a continuous Russian defense line along the Dnepr; 2. To seize the Crimea; and 3. To capture the Donets...

Re: LEIPZIG 1813 AAR

I was tongue-in-cheek mimicking/adapting other threads' complaints about the game. Well, not that recent grouchy 70-year-old's out-of-the-blue shot. That was something to read. WTF. I'm in the realistic flow river camp; because of everything the engine does under the hood when we place unit represen...

Re: LEIPZIG 1813 AAR

I can't wait for the discussions of where exactly in the hex the unit was and how it could be on both sides of the riverbank in those hexes where the river runs dead center. Napoleon's Wheeling Formation Around proficiency would be better than Blucher's. I can already tell it's not modeling sailing ...

LEIPZIG 1813 AAR

I was going through the great AAR Bob shared on his scenario LEIPZIG 1813 AAR in the TOAW III forum; https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=11190&t=218434 It was great to see the outcome and think about it's impact on history. That was a big one - and clearly feasible watching the wa...

FYI - Zovs and Telumar have done terrific work modding maps. I apologize for not knowing to whom to credit but someone made broken rail hexes transparent purple in zoom-out to quickly assess the situation.

Plenty of choices - check the Mods threads. I like my maps to look more mappy than real and mod the mods.

How does that work? You can play the game at both the Army/Corp level and the division/regiment at the same time?

Any timetable on the latest version release?

Also, all praise to Rick who wrote 5 tracks PO that follows history! I recently suffered under one of Rick's tracks in Russo-German War 1941-45. There were about 4 turns of "Wait... where did they come from... is it the whole... I DON'T HAVE ENOUGH RAIL TO STOP THAT!" General question; is...

Gents - a minor housekeeping issue for any future fine-tuning updates; divisions in the Soviet 5th Army are still set as sections.

Thank you for that - it was informative.

The two times I've played it as the Union there didn't seem to be enough time to move to the flanks or to reinforce Burnside's advance. I might have another go at it.

Re: Lost in scale

My two cents; Understanding that Soviet Fronts were more akin to German Armies, and German Corps were more akin to Soviet Armies; the first "apple to apple" organizational purpose/frontage is probably a division - even though German divisions were larger. So that's the scale I prefer. Now,...
