Operations Assistant

This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the fastest-growing companies in the video gaming industry. Strategy-specialist Slitherine is looking for an Operations Assistant to work on our expanding range of video games.

The operations team are the link between the developers and the customers. All builds that are provided by the developers go through operations, where they are tested, packaged up for Steam, GoG or whichever platform they are to be delivered on and then delivered to customers.

We are offering an exciting position in a creative and active environment, where your input will count!

Role

  • Testing new video games and all preparation tasks prior to release.
  • Scripting and building installers and game launchers.
  • Programming experience is an advantage.
  • The drive to improve existing pipelines and tools to decrease processing times.
  • A passion for games, especially Strategy games, is a requirement.
  • Interact with other departments in the company.

About You

We believe that drive and a passion to learn are more valuable than formal qualifications for this position, but you must be a technical person. No previous experience is required.

Success in this role will be assisted by the following:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including accurate and timely reporting.
  • A strong ability to prioritise and multi-task across competing demands.
  • Ability to recognise critical issues or testing deficiencies and raise concerns.
  • Ability to adapt based on the changing needs of the company.
  • To identify and escalate risks and potential areas of concern with appropriate sense of urgency.
  • Knowledge of the strategy game genre of video games.
  • You must have a strong attention to detail and be able to follow check lists carefully. 

This position would ideally suit someone trying to break into the games industry.

 

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: Negotiable and based on experience £20,000 - £25,000 per year
