Defence Simulation Sales Exec

The key purpose of this role will be the execution of profitable growth for the Defence sector of Slitherine’s strategy and wargames simulations business. Key to this is the development of new opportunities in alignment with Business Strategy and plans for sustainable business growth. You’ll leverage robust relationships with key strategic accounts and partners to ensure agreed objectives and alignment with quality, technical and customer service standards.

You’ll also lead a focus on developing customer propositions with enduring long term value and operate as a senior member of the Business Development Management team, interfacing with the rest of the business.

This role will directly report to the Director of Business Development.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Providing leadership and direction to the Defence Projects business development team, to deliver growth aspiration and sales results. Including research, scoping, design and commercialisation of value propositions. Coordinate external partners and consultants where needed. Leverage personal network and market knowledge.
  • Engage internal and external stakeholders to ensure company objectives are met.
  • Working with the Director of Business Development to develop the Defence Projects strategy.
  • Attending trade shows to represent the company.

Your Skills and Experience:

The ideal candidate for this role will possess a solid understanding of how large Contracting businesses operate; working across multiple product delivery and under different business models.

You’ll be capable of delivering a business model that achieves a successful end-to-end “Solutions” approach and will possess an excellent understanding of the UK Defence Sector and the opportunities within it for the Contracting Business. You’ll have sound financial knowledge with an ability to create budgets with client business plans, as well as the ability to share and communicate this knowledge with the wider leadership team.

Slitherine is the world’s leading specialist a specialist in strategy and wargame development and releases 20 products a year across a range of formats including PC, Xbox One, PS4 and Switch. 5 years ago Slitherine started supplying these complex wargames to the Pentagon and has since created an entire department focussed on servicing the defence industry. Slitherine has seen it defence industry revenues double each year and is looking to continue this growth.

Salary: Negotiable, based on qualifications and experience ~£30k-£60k.

Location: Epsom, Surrey, UK.
