It's high time.. we need a land based CMANO.

A few weeks back I saw the review of Armored Brigade on Youtube done by the Historical Gamer. It was very good. Good enough to purchase the product for me.

In his review, he stated this game has the potential to be the land based cousin to Command Modern Operations. Unfortunately this game, as good as it is, with the potential it has, is not living up to that statement.

It amazes me that we have Command, which is in my opinion THE best Naval and Air Forces simulator out there right now, yet no one can develop a land based simulator that mirrors it? C'mon Matrix, someone out there has that ability. If it can be done with Command, why not an Armored Brigade type sim?

Armored Brigade is quite good... can we not expand it and make it easier in some sort of sandbox version and add the globe?

If anyone has an alternative that they know of, I am all ears. I've got a tactical Air Assault on the Soviets that combines all the resources of Command but nothing to test my hypothesis where it's needed the most... on the ground.

I’ve given some thought on my post. I believe Armored Brigade would do itself a disservice by mirroring Command.

Realistically the scope is just too big, and after spending a few hours on some of the scenarios, I’ve realized being too big would diminish the tactical efficiency and game play.

Now that I’m hearing more about an Armored Brigade II, I’m hoping to just see more scenarios. I’m also hoping to see a more user friendly scenario modification mode. If anything I’d like to see ABII be more like command in that capacity. Placing units on a map without having to plug in too many numbers.

This is a great simulator. The depth of this game doesn’t have too many, if any, limitations. Take your time building it, make it better. When it comes out, I’ll be purchasing it.

I’m flexing the proverbial muscles of this game and finding more things that force me to second guess my initial observations of this game.

Not paying attention initially, I was caught in an encircling ambush by not seeing the “Battle Generator”. Fatal error on my part.

No need for a menu to add units, it’s actually easier than CMO… and here I thought there wasn’t a sandbox mode. This sandbox is way better than any sand you thought you would be playing in the Middle East.

But I digress… this game continues to prove my previous assumptions wrong.

Try the AB1943 mod which has WW2 units - they last a bit longer than modern stuff. Of course it might just be my incompetence.

There are no scenarios - you use the battle generator each time.
