Detailed changelog:
Bug Fixes and Enhancements
Installation
• With some installations, the initial scenario list was not populating as expected, necessitating a manual copy of the installation scenario folder over to the play folder. The embedded routine that does this has been rewritten and will now work in all circumstances without manual intervention.
• The “overlays.ini” file needed to be copied from the install folder to the play folder so that changes to User Preferences can be saved.
Data and Scenarios
• All of the national data files have been updated to support the latest air defense data changes. All of the scenarios have been refreshed to incorporate these data changes.
• Combat model enhancement: MANPADS were not firing at close air support aircraft. They can now fire and have a reasonable chance of a hit.
• Ownership of one-sided victory point locations is now correctly determined in Tutorial #1.
• Tutorials. The Warsaw Pact colors have been changed to the expected colors in all the tutorial mission graphics.
• “Quietly Flows the Donau” was supposed to be set on 21 July 1989 but was really starting on July 20th. We have fixed the scenario start date to use the 21st.
• “Beaning the Beamers” has different setup zones to add more flexibility to the starting setup.
User Interface
• The F4 hotkey did not toggle the unit Dashboard off as expected. It would toggle it on but not off, and this has now been fixed.
• Windows Text Scaling. The five core information panels had sizing issues when Windows text scaling was greater than 100% and the expand/collapse toggle was used. The game now does a better job of capturing the proper heights and restoring them later.
• The accelerator keys for the main menu speed buttons have been restored. 'Alt' plus the underlined letter in the menu header will drop down the associated menu. This gives more keyboard-friendly access to this part of the game.
• Map Zoom. Enhance game experience at 5k and 250% fonts by allowing the maps to be zoomed to 200%.
• Core Panels & Right Edge of Screen. If the core info panel docking area was made visible and then the player went directly from one game to start a new game, the core info panels could be moved further to the right and become inaccessible. The cause of this has been found and fixed.
• ‘Move Deliberate’ and ‘Move Hasty’ orders have the same order delay factors but they should be different (Move Hasty is quicker) as described in the documentation. We have identified the root cause of this and fixed it now.
• Fix a problem with SOP edits to the initial/first order not also updating the SOP currently being executed (Senna). When editing the SOP of the first order in the queue, the SOP changes were not being passed along to the order in effect. Now they are.
• Trying to mark a finished or resigned PBEM++ game as “Reviewed” sometimes threw an error #29 that would prevent a review. The source of this issue has been found and fixed.
• UI: Make Ctrl-K a true toggle shortcut for the SOP Manager (Shadrach). Ctrl-Kt will now toggle the dialog off again if it is already showing. If changes are pending and the automatic saving of changes checkbox is not checked then it will ask the player if changes should be saved.
• Map scrolling. Map scrolling was not being triggered when throwing the mouse up to the top game edge. This should now be fixed.
Game Mechanics and Other
• We changed pathfinding slightly in the case where it was trying too hard to avoid overstacking on crowded roads. This was observed in Tutorial #1.
• Combat Model: Long-range direct-fire corrections were made to reduce an excessive accuracy bonus. This addresses the recent issue that long-range fires could be a little too accurate sometimes.
• Fog of war settings in campaigns could sometimes spontaneously change. It would switch to the fog of war settings of the campaign author’s computer and not those of the campaign itself. This has been fixed and now works as expected.
• Sometimes engineers with bridges were not getting credit for having the bridges or being allowed to use them. This happened when non-bridging subunits outnumbered bridging subunits and is now fixed.
• Editing existing orders in the unit Dashboard display could result in avoiding specific delay factors for some orders. It was possible to enter a list of low-delay orders and then go back and edit them into high-delay orders without actually incurring a further delay.
o Editing *pending* orders will result in the correct delays being applied as if the new orders were issued from scratch.
o Editing orders *already being executed* will result in a full orders delay being applied for the newly issued order, identical to canceling the order and issuing the new order.
o Pressing the Cancel button while editing orders in the unit Dashboard now restores the original orders and resets the order delays to the original situation, also for orders being executed.
• Fixed a bug causing ground units to not respond to stand-off range SOP violations (TCao)

Is this having some impact on the pbem+ servers? I haven't been able to sign in today to check my games even after applying the update.

There were issues earlier in the day getting onto the PBEM++ servers, but they got that worked out, and you should be able to get in. If not, please post a screenshot of the error message.
OTS is looking forward to Southern Storm getting released!

Wonderful changes, loving the QoL improvement

Just wondering about the menus - they can now also be activated with single keys - which is not exactly standard, usually Alt is needed, but works fine (apart from the ones I've overridden). Is this intentional?

It seems to work with or without the Atl key pressed for the secondary selection. Is that an issue?

Once the menus are open, then a single key press should activate the menu option, so no not an issue.

It's just kind of non-standard to have menus open without the Alt key.
But no big deal at all - in fact I would think most players would like not having to use a combo. It's nice to be able to just press M,L to show All LOS or or T,M to show the obstacle overlay

Hi folks, I'm yet to get into the game as I thought I would wait for a few patches. I was also hoping scrolling gripes would be addressed. Very surprised when I gave the game a quick go today with the Windows taskbar off and I could scroll in all directions by hitting the screen edge with the cursor. I could also select the top and bottom menu items without accidently scrolling. Scroll options set to program and 4 4 4 4. I've not seen a fix note for this mentioned but I'm now very happy!

Thanks,
Chris

Hello, is this official update backwards compatible with a campaign save file from the launch day version? That's what I still have installed.

Thank You!
