Hey Rangerjoe,

While posting images is certainly not against the forum rules, you're effectively spamming the thread here. If you want to post meme images, please make a new thread of your own for that and please keep them suitable for our public forum rules.

As it is, the spamming is causing some folks, including some on the dev team, to have a tough time finding the wheat amid the chaff, so to speak. Let's keep this thread to update discussions please.

Long time lurker asking if there is an ETA for making this last patch official so I'm not checking every day to only have my hopes dashed against the rocks. Rough ballpark is fine, and we are all wise enough to know events can effect schedules. Thanks for putting this effort into a great game.

Hi there,
I will try the new patch as Allies and do some test runs. I just wanted to check, in this patch Allies supply production is much more realistic, am I right? Especially for West Coast bases.

I had to have ships wait for supplies otherwise my bases were drained. New Orleans which is a new base, has industry to repair.

So I started a game as Japan with this new Beta on hard... seems some new terrain features of the map and also what I guess is an AI overhaul ( ) will slow down the Japanese advance in China, Burma and perhaps at Singapore too...

Pretty interesting I must say, also the Chinese seem to be more agressive now, they make counterattacks and I was taken by surprise and they took even 2 cities back. WHat I noted is that the movement arrows on enemy troops do not appear anymore? I am sure one could see these arrows before and so there was a visual warning the enemy was moving. But I am also sure this time there were no arrows and so the Chinese could suprise me. Which is not bad, but I was just wondering if the arrows are removed on purpose (=WAD) or is some error in my install :?: Edit, I mean of troops that are near your own or were reconned by air....

Update, seems sometimes the arrows are shown....and sometimes not ? Anyone has seen this too?

Edit, another small thing, MENADO on the map should be MANADO (Dutch base)

Afternoon Air attack on Kuala Lumpur , at 49,79

Weather in hex: Light rain

Raid spotted at 19 NM, estimated altitude 22,000 feet.
Estimated time to target is 6 minutes

Allied aircraft
Brewster B-339D x 11
Hudson I x 3

No Allied losses

Aircraft Attacking:
3 x Hudson I bombing from 18000 feet
Port Attack: 4 x 250 lb GP Bomb

This base has no port.....

Also I wonder if this is correct, my pilot pool shows exp of 64 for both army and navy ?
It is quite a while ago I started a game so I may post things that are WAD...but replacement pilots should have low exp or not?

Also I noted the strange "Stock" armor values were not corrected I mean eg. the Sherman (V), Allied TDs dates and Type1 tanks... this was discussed in the past already..I am sure I will note more stuff when I play further ;)
One can ofc change the values in the editor himself, but would be better of stock game had them too? "Sherman V" (Br.) is NOT a 17pdr. tank! And even if it was, it for sure was not send to asia in 44. In stock the prod starts in 12/43 iirc

Edit, this is OFC nitpicking (SP?) but why has this plane Brewster B-339D x 11 the manufacturer named while the same plane Buffalo1 has not? I think the 1st one is Dutch and 2nd British.
Edit, location Liuchow, it says garrison 53/60 on the map, it should be 0/60 as it says correct at the base screen.. I have 3 arty units there w/ 0 AV.

It think that the second one is Australian.

Menado is the correct spelling at that time.

A ship being repaired on December 7th is HMS Mauritius and missing the damage representing this. It had a serious problem with its anti-magnetic mine degaussing system. It arrived at Singapore in November 1941 for the work to be done but once the war started it left Singapore for the UK (with survivors from Repulse and PoW) and needed three months of work before returning.

Status Update?

Joe or BTD:

Any chance we can get a status update on the project? Doesn't have to be elaborate.
Thanks.

I luv finding very small and minor OB discepancies:

USCGC Tiger - This ship was patrolling around Oahu and at the time of the attack was off Barber's Point.

Cocos Island - Garrison consisted of one platoon of King's African Rifles and 2x6" Guns (manned by Ceylon Garrison Artillery gunners who mutinied on 8 May 1942, three were later executed for mutiny)

Christmas Island (IO) - just 1x6" gun (manned by the Hong Kong and Singapore Royal Artillery, Punjabi gunners mutinied on 11 March 1942 and murdered the British commanding office and four British NCOs. The Japanese landed on 31 March 1941 before the mutineers could murder the European civilians on the island. Somehow one USN officer, LtCmdr Thomas Donovan, from the USS Langley ended up on the island after it was sunk. He survived the mutiny and Japanese POW camps. After the war six of the mutineers were tracked down by the British and tried for the mutiny. Five were sentenced to death, execution was scheduled for after the independence of Pakistan. At the request of the new Pakistani government the executions were commuted to life in prison.

Ah cool, so we better wait for this new beta and do not post issus anymore right :?:
Cause they could be fixed already in the new one

Clearly someone did some work on the A.I. the Chinese are more dangerous they might suddenly bunch up on you which was not so much the case before. Same with the new location before Rangoon can be reached - in this case the Sittang bridge. Were the AI massed their forces and stopped the Japanese...also a smaller stop at "Kluang" (sp? I believe also new base) 2 hexes north of Singapore. So the AI seems more dangerous now, which was a lil surprise

RangerJoe wrote: Sun Nov 20, 2022 4:52 pm I have not noticed if there are others like this but the Chinese Rifle Squad upgrading looks to be circular. The second "Chinese Rifle Squad" listing should include a 45 at the end of it.
Funny.. :D I noted none of the Chin squads have the year in their name here. This is stock scen2 (which is the same as 1 only the IJ gets some more toys) btw. And yes it is the new patch it says 11.27.2 :

I also have another question why do the Japanese Chinese HMG squads "update" to normal rifle squads ? I know one can disable this... but still curious if this was the case in reality... did the "regular" IJA steal the HMGs from their Chinese collaborateurs cause they did not have enough themselves

Corrected the issue, the naming fields in the editor is to short, so we need to shorten the Chinese. Btw. I also deleted the HMG "ugrade" and added a "JPN" to the Japanese Chinese squads. See:
chin2.jpg
chin2.jpg (113.18 KiB) Viewed 156 times

I have 2 more questions,

a) what does the LL mean for the 2nd Chin MMGs? Lend Lease or what? And the data of these MMGs seems to be same, I guess they used 2 or 3 modells of MGs which was available to them at the time?

b) Chin recon squads are produced but not used...
..... both these issues are old ones not specific to 11.27

Also ofc the tank,TD,SP and AT guns are still all over the place, I corrected some for my self already.. but this is also an old issue :D

Yaab wrote: Mon Nov 21, 2022 4:05 pm Both Port Swettenham and Bukit Besi (both in Malayas) have 600 Res Centers EACH, producing 12,000 res per turn each. No LI to repair in Malayas, so this res surplus is kinda wasted by Jap player there. However, as Larry Silverstein would say, you have to PULL IT, possibly via the PaxMondo's magic highway all the way to Japan to boost LI production in the Home Islands.
Imho these number of res are too high, YES there was raw materials and mining in the area in 1930ties already but numbers seem too high. Also the "magic highway" will not work anymore at all, cause rail links are broken now in this new beta plus you have a huge swampy area running through the middle of occupied China which takes a "while" to get through. As I said already severall measures on the map slow the Japanese down. Which must be a good thing, the tempo was too high for both sides imho anyways 8-) I googled eg. the port Swettenham (now named different) and even today it is a major container terminal - interesting what one learns from the game ;)
