Combat Mechanics - Hit Results

Post by warnevada »

This is the section which needs the most help.

There are three possible results when a hit is made: PIN, RTRT, KILL. The result is purely random. I don't know if the percentages are the same in DC4, but what I remember from ATG they are: 15% KILL, 25% RTRT, 60% PIN.

They also lead to some ridiculous results, such as rifle fire destroying a tank.

Most targets are unitary, a single tank, vehicle, gun, but an infantry element represents 10 men. It is extremely rare for a single shot to kill all 10 men. It was also rare in WW2 for a killing shot at a tank or vehicle to also wipe out the entire crew and passengers. Casualties in the game are either, dead, frightened (RTRT) or shook up(PIN). In real life the vast majority of casualties are various grades of wounded, frightened or shook up. The lightly wounded can usually return to action after first aid treatment.
