Softer Terrain Texture Mod

Softer Terrain Textures Mod

This mod has been in the works for quite a while. Hopefully others may find it of value now.
I've basically softened a lot of the textures to make the map a little easier on the eye, with the added advantage IMHO of improving the clarity somewhat. It also make it feel a little more boardgame like, although at some point I'd like to make a full boardgame style mod.

Defekt's excellent contour mod (https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/view ... 8&t=380554) works very well with this too:

I've also included a mod to the hex grid:

I use these mods with JGME mod enabler but they can be added manually if prefered.

Texture mod can be downloaded here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/446tcr1glsp0u ... n.zip?dl=0

Cheers!

Thanks for the MOD. I was looking for something like this to tone down the graphics.

To install manually, do i just place each folder over the existing ones or copy the contents of each and insert?

cheers.

Hi tombo

If you open the zip file and then drag the folder called 'graphicAlt' into the folder that you have the game installed it should copy the files correctly without over writing anything (unless you have other mods installed). The 'graphicAlt' folder should then look like this:

One of the great things about this game is using modded graphics is easy to do without messing around with the default. If you want to go back just delete the contents of, or better still rename, the 'graphicAlt' folder.

Hope this works for you.
