WitE 1 or WitE 2?

Post by monty69 »

I'm wondering whether to buy Gary Grigsby's War in the East 1, which is currently on sale at Steam, or Gary Grigsby's War in the East 2.

Which would you recommend I go for?

I would go WITE 2. If you like WITE 1, you'll just end up wanting to immediately buy WITE 2 anyway. WITE 2 has several advantages:

--More players currently, so if you play PBEM you'll find an opponent easily
--Advances in gameplay and features

The only advantage of WITE 1 is that it's easier to learn....fewer rules in play

Why not both? People incorrectly assume WITE2 is just an "expansion" or "upgrade", and in some ways it is, but the code forked many years ago and the games still play differently in a lot of ways.
