B41_lgf.04.09.2020

Post by larryfulkerson »

Here's the change list:

B41_lgf.04.09.2020 decided to move the hex movement cost slider to permit more MP's for the Axis and Soviet counters.

B41_lgf.03.06.2020 decided that the game was still too pro-Axis so I decided to make the Soviet units a little more stout.

B41_lgf.02.24.2020 gave the Axis HQ's some trucks for more mobility and I decided to NOT put any Soviet units in garrison mode so they can't move during the early turns.

B41_lgf.02.14.2020 edited the briefing and checked that the TOAW equipment database v.5.2 is installed.

B41_lgf.01.28.2020 added a bunch of airfields.

B41_lgf.8.21.2019 revamped some of the colors of the tank and motorized units.

B41_lgf.8.12.2019 added back some delay until T2 for selected Soviet formations.

B41_lgf.8.11.2019 found two Soviet units that needed trucks to bring their MP's higher than 1. Now they are 11 in MP's. Also, gave all those Soviet units in reorg until T2 are now free to move from the start of the game.

B41_lgf.7.28.2019 never could figure out how to add national borders but I did change the color of the Axis paratroopers to German grey instead of SS black.

B41_lgf.7.22.2019 dug in the Soviet units that can't move

B41_lgf.7.20.2019 minor changes to the objectives on track 1

B41_lgf.7.14.2019 minor changes ( no effect on gameplay ). Notice that it's important that the game be started as a face to face game and then after it's started switch it to Soviet as the computer player.

B41_lgf.7.10.2019 incorporated the lab.col.txt file as my COL file and converted all the colors for the units.

B41_lgf.7.9.2019 changed some of the counters icon color

B41_lgf.7.3.2019
Zovs suggested some new ports, new colors for the SS units, minor changes to the Siege equipment and icon type; and I discovered that all the Soviet units are activated on turn 1. May need to have balance tweeked. Gave 12 trucks to the Axis Assault Gun units for 10 MP's.

B41_lgf_6.15.2019
Made the Axis minors wait until the proper turn before
they become active again.

B41_lgf_5.9
gave some arty to both sides HQ units to justify the Range 1
6/15/2019 12:50 tucson time....lgf

B41_lgf_5.8
started converting to the TOAW v.5.1 Database 5/28/2019 11:55 tucson time...lgf

B41_lgf_5.7
5/16/2018
Added an event to set the Soviet Strategic Bias to "Berserk"

B41_lgf_5.6
12/252017
made the hex conversion cost 90 instead of 100. Set the Soviet air shock value 35
instead of 55. Set the Axis air shock value 150

B41_lgf_5.5
added another track of objectives for variety. Player can choose which he wants. Added a secondary icon of arty for all the Axis engineers

B41_lgf_5.0
Version for the release of T4. This version has a PO for both sides.

B41_lgf_4.0
changed the MRPB fromj 99 to 3

B41_lgf_3.0
changed the Panzer units to black counters and removed the Siege units and replaced them with RR engineers.

B41_lgf_2.0
changed the supplly stockpile level to 32 from 24 and changed the supply radius from 0 to 4.

B41_lgf_1.0:
added some RR engineers to the engr units. 6/24/2017

Larry, I am looking over your mods to the scenario and I noticed a couple of things.

For the siege artillery units they have not siege artillery units in them and 99 Rail Repair crews. How come?

Also, several of the names on the counters don't align with the unit icon, for example Mot MG battalion are show as just MG battalions.

I hope you don't mind but I started to tweak your version ever so slightly, first I changed the unit colors and then started tweaking the siege artillery units to have siege artillery, if I am not mistaken I don't think they were used in railroad repair, but I could be wrong. I am using the old board war game (kind of) colors from the old GDW Europa series.

Anyway thanks to your efforts!

I just picked an icon at random when I was creating them and unfortunately I picked the wrong icon. I was too lazy to change it after that.

Also, several of the names on the counters don't align with the unit icon, for example Mot MG battalion are show as just MG battalions.
Oops, sorry about that. I neglected to change the name when I altered the unit.

Yes, by all means, fix my errors and make it better yet. I'd like to play your version when you're done.

Anyway thanks to your efforts!
I really appreciate your interest in this scenario. It's one of my favorites.

Larry,

I think I am done tweaking it, I did not want to take away too much from all your hard efforts!

The only thing I really did besides the graphic color changes and a few little tweaks is to rearrange the scenario briefing, I moved all your comments and my changes to the end so folks could read the scenario info, colors of counters and special rules at the beginning of the briefing.

Updated Scenario briefing

I really hope you don't mind, and I don't want to step on your toes, but I love your mod of this scenario so much I wanted to tweak it for my old eyes and remember my old board war gaming years...lol

Here is a few screen shots, I'll post it here someplace when I think it's good to go, but am interested in your thoughts on some of the color selection I used. Note I am using that "Flat board war game counter" from I think David is his name, I think it looks sweet...

sorry I got a 4k monitor if too big, also it looks much better in person, the snip looks a little grainy to me, but it looks fine on my monitor

I like it a lot. Thanks for straightening out some of the things I should have done. It's a much better scenario now. I'd love to play it when you're done with it.

I've been using the date that I modded it as part of the name You can do that too or name it whatever you'd like, actually.
