Yay a collaborative AAR nice!
1) With France. You had maximum bad luck no cold turns and then rain in the first turn of May thats crazy. Even so Paris fell first turn of August but it was pretty costly to achieve. I sent 6 corps to France you can send more so was not an all in by any means but I dont think I would have achieved much more by sending 2 more British units.
2) The Battle of the Atlantic. You have sunk a fair bit. Actually a lot more merchants than for example Battlevonwar in my game vs him at this point in the game (august 40) but fewer escorts and suffered more losses and I got the Norway boost of merchants. And since very few escorts have died the numbers are coming up nicely.
My problem with the BoA is the maybe a bit too big spread of randomness I feel. I remember one early turn my escorts scored 6 hits on your subs in one turn and now this turn you sank 8 merchants and 1 escort on a fully escorted (10) route with no losses. Very big swings. Add too that the randomness of wether or not CVs score a hit and they can make a huge difference.
3) I played badly concerning the ME. I had the units to send but I didnt so it will be a race. I will fight for it, at least delay what may well be inevitable. Concerning the RN I sent it on a sub hunt in the Atlantic but why do I send all? Unnecessary. In the future I will send only the CV up back to the UK. I will move the French fleet up to the Atlantic and move down some more UK ships to the Med. Thats the way to do it I think. After all these games still learn/think of something new
