TotH provisions for abandon weapons and AFV line of sight

Hi,
As a very old ASL player I find TotH as close to the board game that I've ever run across. Having said that there were two provisions in ASL that I came across that I could not find mentioned in the TotH rules.
1. Are there provisions for a squad/crew to reclaim an abandon weapon (friendly or not)?
2. In ASL an AFV could block line of sight even if destroyed is that available.

Welcome to the ToTH forum, James!

As regards to your questions:

1. There are two ways to acquire an abandoned SW:

a) a unbroken and not just rallied squad/HS/crew not already carrying a SW and starting an Administrative Segment in a hex containing the abandoned SW (friendly only, no SW capture in ToTH) will automatically attempt to acquire the SW. In subsequent Administrative Segments you can pass the SW to another unit in the same hex pressing the "w" key.

b) when a squad/HS/crew not already carrying a SW enters a hex containing the abandoned SW in the Movement Segment, an extra button appears ("Recover SW", if I remember correctly) and you can attempt recovering the SW, provided you still have some MP left. You can make several attempts, as long as you have remaining MPs.

2. AFVs and wrecks are considered as a hindrance, not a LOS-blocking terrain.
