New Scenario for Testing: Dragons and Tigers

Post by angster »

A hypothetical border incident between China and India ends in an all out brawl. You play as China in a preemptive strike against a well armed India. Manage your air patrols well and except surprises.

Objective:
Western Theater Command would like you to conduct preemptive strikes against Indian forces in Assam and disputed Arunachal Pradesh. Your task is to destroy or degrade all air and ground units, with emphasis on enemy air formations, surface-to-air batteries, command & control, forward operational bases, and border outposts. In addition, you are to minimize damage to PLAGF positions from Indian retaliation.

All feedback and critiques are welcome.

Interesting, amid with Sino-India border conflict IRL.

I have a rather bigger, campaign-like idea about this conflict turned into WW3 In Indian perspective, but I don't have as much understanding of Indian forces than the Chinese, so it keep dragging me off from schedules.

I have always thought it's a very interesting and inspiring match, tow aspiring and rising naval superpowers in an extremely vital theater

I know someone has already went through this scenario during this weekend. He posted an AAR on Zhihu, a Chinese question-and-answer website.
And Sina Junshi, a very popular military information website, copy and paste the whole AAR from Zhihu, stick it on top of their website

Pretty cool that it is circulating around. The author contacted me and the original article has more detailed images. Forum won't allow me to post links for some reason.

I tried it, and the Indian S-400 batteries are giving me a lot of trouble. They are a little too good at intercepting my DF-15 and DF-16. Maybe I should try to overwhelm them with cruise missiles first.

Hey gosnold, you can overwhelm the 2 batteries with a combination of cruise missiles, harpies and ballistic missiles. Another option is simply overwhelm the S-400 by firing all ballistic missiles at once.

Yeah I did that, I launched the cruise missiles with jammer support. The S-400 shot down a handful and then ran out of SA-21b, so then I launched the ballistic missiles and closed all the airports except the West one. After that it's almost a cakewalk (I had orbiting CAP over my airports at all times so the counterstrike failed). I lost a few aircraft here and there, for instance when the S-400 reloaded or when the T-50 showed up. After the S-400 went completely dry, I sent UAV close to Indian airports to see which parking spots were occupied, and then targeted those.
I'm now at 17h hours to go and I think I' going to stop there and declare victory (major victory actually, with a score of 3240).

It's a really interesting scenario, the terrain is very interesting: The Himalayas hide the Chinese aircrafts from the Indian ground radars, so they have a huge advantage. It also makes Chinese semi-active SAM a bit useless as they rarely get a line of sight.
