Battlefields! Update...

Post by Erik Rutins »

Hello,

Just thought I'd post a note here for folks who may not have stopped into the Battlefields! forum lately. Battlefields! is our upcoming 1 km/8 hour scale WWII operational wargame. It features simultaneous execution, excellent scenarios, realistic fog of war, amphibious, airborne and land combat and a host of other cool stuff.

We just posted an update with scenario screenshots in this thread:

showthread.php?s=&threadid=40300

An intro to Battlefields! can be found here:

Thanks for having a look. :)

Hmm looks like TOAW, but uses simultaneous movement.

Good god I haven't had sex yet today, and those screen shots sure have affected me.

Hmm, I don't think I will be thinking about 3d real time games any time soon.

Everyone has what they like I suppose, and I sure like the look of those screens.

Revise the list, Combat Leader is now neck and neck with Battlefields!!
Wonder which one I will be getting first now.
I LIKE that my life bothers them,
Why should I be the only one bothered by it eh.

Maliki,

Well, there's only so much that can be done in 2D, but I think considering most operational scale games, Battlefields! is certainly in the same ballpark graphically. I do appreciate you taking a look and commenting and I'm glad to hear that the game is sounding good to you.

Les,

Thanks for looking in on Battlefields!. I realize that being up there with CL is high praise in your book and we are all doing our best to keep it that way. Next update should be around the beginning of July... :D

Well said Les. I too will get both games.

I too have no interest in 3D games. Or 3d art. None .

Updated!

Post by Erik Rutins »

Gentlemen,

UPDATED! (6/22/2003): When I posted the last shots, we were still updating graphics. Some designers pointed out to me that I should post some updated screenshots showing some of the new roads and other improvements. As a result, I've updated all the previously posted screenshots. As always, keep in mind that these sneak peeks are "work in progress" and are to give you an idea of where we are rather than to be considered as final. Just go to the original link above to see the updated images.
