Command: Modern Air / Naval Operations has been updated to Version 1.11 R6!

Features:

* Wholly revised right-column underlying UI stack that works accross different DPI settings (see article: http://www.warfaresims.com/?p=4376)

* Significant performance improvements on both sim-core and map engine.

* Sonar model addition: Bottom-bounce mode (active sonar only). Overview here:

* AI Tweak: Mobile facility contacts have the same expiration age as surface contacts (2 hrs)

* Added listing of comm devices on "Damage Control" window.

* Ship AI change: Do not adjust speed for cavitation when in simple plotted course transit.

* UI tweak: "Damage Control" button & window (and fire damage indicator) enabled for aircraft.

* Map tweak: Detected jamming emissions are displayed in yellow text and do not "fade"

* Weapons tweak: Weapons that impact on a set of coords first check if any target is actually there (chance of direct-hit!).

* Aircraft and aerial weapons that travel at high-supersonic and hypersonic speeds now get a substantial (linear) boost in their IR signatures (these things literally glow!)

Nice new UI!

When I first loaded it up, the 'Unit Aircraft' and 'Unit Boats' buttons were missing - validating the Steam cache solved this, if anybody else experiences the same.

Edit:

I'm having some weirdness with allies now appearing as yellow (even when manually tagged as 'friendly'), and being unable to view hosted units (except through Contact Report>Spotted Hosted Units), but it could just be because the mission I'm playing hasn't been updated (The Tide Is Turning) - it all seems to work fine if I create the units from scratch in the editor.

Awesome update!

Quick question on the IR signature. Was there a reason you choose a linear boost to signature size with velocity? Aircraft thermal signature is to first order a function of Mach number squared.

Edit: Also thermal emissivity is a function of temperature to the fourth.

Hmm, this looks like a massive spike to IR with Mach number, I've gotta do more research.

The UI changes with unit information are very useful and the new grey color is a bit easier on the eyes!

I can't seem to find the new nuclear Grumble missile in the db. Would someone tell me where I can find it?

edit: I've searched using 5v55v, grumble, nuclear and I still don't see it anywhere...

The new UI is great! Happy to finally have unit fuel remaining show up in Group view, among many of the other highlights. Thank you for continuing to improve this impressive platform. So happy!

The new UI does look good, noticing a little extra demand on the processor and ram but will play with it abit more to see how it goes.

Im loving the new UI format, it makes things much easier.

One think I have noticed, the new CAMs armed Pershing II, they do no damage when fired. Now I think i might see the flaw, in the DB theres two entries one under the weapons.

#3397 MGM-31C Pershing II -1990

This has a DP value of 720

#3397 MGM-31C Pershing II

Doesnt have a value at all.

I think that the Pershing unit uses the #3396 entry rather than the #3397 therefore the weapon causes no damage.

Anyone else finding this?

Discovered some issues with the sensor/EMCON controls thru the UI.
Sometimes it is either greyed out or does not respond after clicking (like activating radars), forcing me to use the traditional EMCON control window to 'manually' switch things on.

And;
#10873 - DB3k Update: Add HQ-16B (2016)

Looked at it and somehow the HQ-16B isnt available as loadout for the naval platforms that use it (Type 054A, Type 051B refit)
Also, the seeker is still semi-active radar homing and not active radar homing, latter of which is the selling point of this upgrade.

Love the update. I was unable to see an explanation on how the new EMCON graphics work in the updated right hand panel, but I believe the key here is to deselect the "inherit from parent" check box first and then the greyed out boxes become functional. (Green active, blue passive). Sorry if this is here somewhere but I could not find it in the change log.

Yes, that's correct. Same as before really- the EMCON settings are locked while "Inherit from Parent" is set.

It'd be nice to have those EMCON settings always visible, without the need to uncheck the "inherit..." thing. [:)]
