New disaster for me

Post by jwolf »

Admittedly I am still very inexperienced with the game even after 16 months of playing it. The following was an unpleasant surprise:
DMS Boggs hits uncharted rock at 114 , 161

At or just outside Noumea. Fortunately it didn't happen to a more valuable ship. The Boggs picked up a few points of system and engine damage, and 36 points of float damage. It will limp to Auckland for repairs. Evidently the Allies are fighting Neptune as well as the Japanese! [;)]

I just had a Canadian SC get grounded and suffer 16 float damage last night. I'm like you that I am glad it's a small vessel. But I have had my fill of combat ship collisions, in and out of battle.

I'm a big fan of these rocks. Apparently they're doing more damage than my coastal defense guns.

In one of my PBEM games I noticed that intelligence lists one of my opponents destroyers lost to a collision. I did not even know that could happen.
Playing at war is a far better vocation than making people fight in them.

You haven't been reading my AAR. Pity, you missed one memorable day with close to 20 collisions.[:)]

I've had landing craft tear open their bottom on landing troops, too.
