How easy is the map editor?

Post by Nomada_Firefox »

I was thinking about if the map editor would be fast and easy or it would be crazy as the map editor from Battle Academy where the creation from a map is a mess.

Can you create a map fast or do you need a lot of clicks?

It depends on how detailed you want to be, and what you consider 'fast.' If you import a height map for the terrain elevations it is just a matter of smoothing the elevations out a bit, painting the terrain coding for things like roads, and then clicking to place buildings, walls, trees, etc.

Can the selection from objects and other things be made fast? in the battle academy map editor, I put it as a example because it is the worse map editor never seen by me. You must navigate between a long list of things with each piece of texture or object selected. Each new addition, you can need several minutes for search it. It is a very long work.

The objects are represented by a group of thumbnail icons shown near the bottom of the screen. If you know what you're looking for it is a single click in most cases.
