Maintain Standoff Question

Post by BKL »

I understand that maintain standoff in RoE will prevent the unit from going into enemy firing range if it has a weapon's range advantage. However, what happens once that advantage is gone or a tie? Will that doctrine then be ignored and your unit move into range so that it too can fire weapons, or will the unit still not go into firing range and therefore not be able to fire on the target, since itself would then be out of range?

If unit is directed to engage/prosecute a target... It will close till within weapons range… And will continue to do so until you tell it to drop the target... Unassigned it or assign it to another mission…
