"Activate" Passive Sonar

Post by adamant365 »

I have a quick question regarding sonar usage. I'm currently commanding DDG103 on the surface combat tutorial. I would like to use my passive sonar so as to keep my noise signature as low as possible. In the Sensors menu, the AN/SQS-53C(V)1 sonar is listed as "Active/Passive." If I make it active by checking the box, will I immediately start pinging for contacts? How do I "enable" just the passive sonar component?
Thanks!

Passive sonar is working all the time (unless damaged), so no need to activate.
