[FIXED B543] Mount reload times & excessive rates of fire

Post by ExMachina »

Playing Sea of Fire, I am finding that reproducing the historic outcome is impossible (at least without "gaming" the AI into first draining its magazines).

The problem seems to be the excessive UK rate of fire that is a direct result of the (lack of) reload delays for the UK SAMs--they reload instantaneously.

The Coventry's Sea Darts launch from their single, dual rail launcher in an almost continuous series of four missiles (apparently being limited only by the number of targets that the weapon is able to track/target at one time).

In addition, the Sea Wolf 6-missile launchers on the Broadsword also reloads instantly. I just did a play through where the Birt fired 14 Sea Wolfs in under one minute (presumably form the front mount b/c the incoming A4s were out of arc for the rear mount).

I know this issue has been brought up before and was wondering what the prognosis was for adding in mount reload times in the near future?

The in some cases almost immediate weapon reload was something I had posted very early after release, I had also posted about a submarine (in the tutorial mission) that fires more torpedoes than it has tubes in rapid succession. Might be exactly this issue.

I suspect this is a database issue. I have seen reload times in effect with many weapons.

Possible. So if we are forced to go through this one by one I can at least contribute the immediate reload of torpedoes #1712 in the tutorial.

Also kind of confusing but not at all critical:

On the North Carolina I have 4 TTs. Lets assume they are all empty. Now, if I go the "Weapons" dialogue and check any reload priority for tube 4, it is tube 1 that will be loaded first. Next I check tube 3 and tube 2 is loaded. I check tube 4 and tube 3 is loaded. Is that of any relevance when it comes to loading tubes or other mounts that look all the same but have different firing arcs? I would like to see exactly the mount loaded that I have selected.

Can you look at Russian Land Based SAM's too.

SA-2, SA-5, SA-10, SA-12, SA-20, SA-21 and SA-23 around 90 minutes (full reload)
SA-3, SA-6, SA-8, SA-11, SA-15, SA-17 and SA-26 around 15 to 30 minutes

Currently they just fire till the magazines are empty - not at all realistic.

Has the Pechora-2M been officially classified as SA-26 by NATO/ASCC ?

If yes, what/who does SA-25 refer to?

As I explained here, the problem affects only the first reload, not all subsequent reloads.
