[FIXED B445] Mine clearing

Post by CV32 »

Need some help with mine clearing.

I created a mine clearing mission, and assigned an MH-53 Sea Dragon to the task. It seems to be patrolling the area alright, but at high altitude and doesn't seem to be doing much of anything.

I tried moving it to low altitude and manually deploying sensors, but with little result. Am I missing a step(s) somewhere?

Scenario is Op Brass Drum, v1.01.

Checkmate? Really? LOL. I enjoy a good wargame as much as the next guy. Meanwhile, I thought you were over it, had moved on, etc, etc. Maybe not, huh? [:D]

I'll try and find a suitable savegame, especially if you think it might a bug, but in the meantime, I was wondering if I was missing something in the procedure. The manual did make it seem pretty simple, and so I thought I was on the right track.

Okay looks like a couple of issues (all ours).

1) Minehunting sonar isn't deployed.
2) Large mine is wacking the helicopter. Need to look at the warhead.

Stay tuned.

Went back and tried Op Brass Drum with Build 460.

I can confirm that the MH-53E is deploying its mine hunting sonar (although I am not having much success finding mines) during an assigned mine clearing mission, but I lost two of these helos at 75 meters altitude, presumably to exploding mines. Can you look at this again?

I wonder if this has been looked into? My Sea Stallions are getting blown out of the sky by generic rising mines. Since these are rocket-propelled, is it reasonable to assume they would break the surface, climb 154 feet and detonate near my helicopter? Or is this a DB issue?

No we haven't. Bumped this up and added an extra test scenario.

Not sure if the behavior is actually correct in the sense that some mine types might actually be dangerous to sweeping aircraft if detonated.
