As I continue to move through my Scenario 1 with the AI, I can definately say that the AI is more of a challenge than in vanilla WitP. If you are used to playing PBEM, then playing the AI can only hold your interest for so long, but regardless, it is so far helping to keep things fresh and interesting.

The AI also seems to be making a lot less bone-head mistakes than it did in vanilla WitP - so hats off to AI team on that great achievement! . . .

. . . however, over the last couple of turns, the AI has been moving TF's through Singapore (which I still hold) to get to its troops on the North coast of Malaya. Well, at first it was a ship or two, until . . .

Below is the picture from the AI save game showing that if anything, FOW had to *few* ships being listed as sunk on my end!

AE team, if interested, I can provide a save before the turn. Dont know if it would help, but I have it if you need it. And let me just be clear, a game of this size and scope, stuff like this is going to happen with the AI. So this is by no means a complaint. Just sharing a fun combat report! [X(]

Ouch!!!
Well we are also prone to the same errors. I am playing Japan and I made a mistake of not looking at the path of my transports and they ended up getting shot at in Bataan (twice).

While oft repeated in many books, IIRC the guns at Singapore were not limited to an arc of fire to seaward only, IRL.

The real problem with the guns was they were not supplied with HE shells to be used against land combat units.

Had the same but not quite as bad. The Japs sent a Bombardment TF (2xCL, 2xDD) to Singapore as they laid seige and the Singapore Fortress tore them to shreds.

In my game the AI tried to send a multiship TF to Manila right after it fell.  Unfortunately for it, I still had Bataan.  The descriptions of "xAKL hits mine" and "xAKL obliterated by 12" hit" went on for quite a long time...

Hmmm, dont have that. I have the save before the event occured and thats it. Dont know if that would help though.

Twice for me, once pre-patch once re-start, the AI has sent a horde of barges to Manila through my precious minefield. They git blowed up real good, but the minefield is thereafter SOL.
