Best way to play Medieval Total War 2?

Post by Chad Harrison »

Hi all

While I pass the months waiting for AE, given the recent release of Empire Total War, I am thinking about firing up Medieval Total War 2 again. It has been some time since I played it last . . .

I know that there is a quite robust modding community for the Total War games. I really enjoyed a number of the total conversions for Rome Total War.

So my question:

1. Are there any mods, or combination of mods that dramatically improve the gameplay experience of Medieval Total War 2?

Thanks in advance.

The Kingdoms expansion pack isn't exactly a mod, but it definitely improves the game.

MTW2 is one of those games that I got my money's worth out of, btw.

I played full campaigns as Britain, France, Scotland and Ireland, which adds up to a lot of hours in front of the computer.

Kingdoms are nice.
I'm playing Teutons campaign as Lithuania now.

If you are aiming for the mods try those:
Stainless Steel (6.1)
Sicilian Vespers 3.2
PDER Kingdoms
Kingdoms Grand Campaign

Thanks for both the replies. I have been toying with the idea of getting Kingdoms. Have yet to decide though.

Thanks for the referal on the Mods. Will check those out at TWCenter.
