update version 1.01

From the legendary team at 2 by 3 Games comes a new grand strategy masterpiece: Gary Grigsby’s War Between the States. Taking gamers back to the American Civil War, this innovative grand strategy game allows players to experience the trials and tribulations of the role of commander-in-chief for either side. Historically accurate, detailed and finely balanced for realistic gameplay, War Between the States is also easy to play and does not take months to finish.

update version 1.01

Post by WarHunter »

Will the update bringing the game to version 1.01, be compatible for previous ongoing saved games? Or will the saved games be obsolete?

Those red arrows on the map are very helpful!
Observation: in 1.00 if the Union attempted a Bull Run with McDowell it was inevitably repelled. Now, after a few test runs,in 1.01, it appears that a 1st turn invasion of Manassas is now a sure fire winner for the North. Something has changed.:)

I attempted a 1st turn invasion from Wash. With all available forces and have been repelled every time. What are you doing to accomplish this?

Are you remembering to include McDowell?
In my test runs vs the AI, the North is 8-0. I think, ideally for game play, either side should have a *some* chance of success in Manassas but with odds favouring the Rebs. The Union AI will NOT (it seems) invade on Turn 1.

Ok I tried it once more. And the Union got a Major Victory. Perhaps I did forget to include McDowell.

Oops, never mind! I had the Difficulty level on Easy, instead of Normal. Now it's still scripted the other way; an automatic victory for the Confeds, as before.
