Its looked promising for the past 2-3 years.  Hopefully it'll get published before the new rig I just ordered is outdated...[:'(]

Akella?

I purchased their Age of Sail games, and reached some fairly steadfast conclusions about their work:

1) As initially published, their games are shoddy and unstable.

2) The patches that are issued for the games never come close to delivering a completed package.

In the future, I might buy an Akella game from the bargain-bin.

In fact, I can't think of any Russian developers who have made a worthwhile game, aside from the people who made Il-2. The rest is garbage.

The original AOS, the 2-D game from Talonsoft was actually just fine, although I would've preferred that it be somewhat more detailed. As previously mentioned, Akella's AOS2 was pretty much shot, with each bug-fix simply jarring some other aspect of the game out of whack. The final game in the series was AOS2: Privateer's Bounty, likewise buggy and unstable. And what really "bugged" me about the whole deal was the rapidity of the developer's retreat from effectively patching their software. Mighty shame on them! [:o]
