make a task force move at max. speed to a destination hex, say a friendly port to refuel so that you can get back into the action. i know moving at night to a hex and sprinting away by daybreak is at max.

Certain TF's, like surface combat, sprint to the DH if within 25 hexes, if retirement is allowed.

By making the DH always 25 or less hexes ahead of the TF, you could make it sprint all over the ocean if you wanted. Keep the DH just outside the max range for a turn, but inside the 25 hex limit of the rule. This would only work for TF's with max/cruise of 12/6 or less. Those numbers are the hexes travelled per 12 hour period at max/cruise speeds.

The last DH could be the refueling port.

Does this work?
Squatting in the bush and marking it on a map.
