AI in CEAW Gold vs CEAW - GS 4.0

I have installed CEAW Gold. I have found my old install file for CEAW - GS 4.0.
I am interested in getting back into the game, but the old CEAW AI was not that great.
I understand that CEAW-Gold has had some AI tweaks. Did CEAW - GS 4.0 have similar AI tweaks?
Which game version has the best AI code now?
I am looking forward to even better AI player code in the upcoming game remake.

I played some turns of the 1939 Campaign of CEAW - GS 4.0, as the Allies. The AI player declared war on Poland, and took 6 or 7 turns to capture Warsaw.
It also declared war on Belgium on turn 1, but did not invade until turn 7 or 8 - in the winter. The surprise bonus was therefore wasted. It did not make any land attacks.
It declared war on Holland in February, but did not get very far as the Brits, French and Belgians had time to move into a good defensive line in Belgium.
As a comparison, playing as the Germans, I took Warsaw on turn 2.
My point is that this existing game has huge potential, but desperately needs a better AI opponent.
I am glad that Hubert and Bill of Fury Software are developing the updated game, as from my experience, the AI player in their Strategic Command series of games is very good.
