Day of Infamy AAR Allies, full turn-by-turn
Re: Day of Infamy AAR Allies, full turn-by-turn
Turn 111 December 21 1944
US&Pacific: Interesting Intelligence data. Petisch’s fleet is most probably somewhere around 76,67 half way to Saipan and Peleliu. I made a flight with airship over Peleliu to deceive him that i am going to land there. Next turn I will attack on Gilbert Islands. Two battleships bombed a settlement and an airfield, and Carrier bombed port. US bought corps. China: Chinese attacked on Xining, but I am thinking it doesn’t have much sense anymore.
India/Burma: Japanese only reinforced. I was able to destroy another Jap Army, but it was very costly for my planes...his Fighters are really good! Two escort missions and my fighter is reduced to 4 points! Anyway, it was worth it, I remember facing 11 armies, now its 9... I hope that he at least got some losses in fighters and is also spending to cover losses. In war of attrition USA has big advantage. I wonder if he attacks next turn. Other theaters: Remember to move Kanga force from Perth! Also Australia bought a core.
Remarks: All steps planned in the schedule for T-3 were executed. I just stick to the plan. Remember that you have good intelligence data on photos!
Science and Diplomacy: US invested in Amphibious Warfare.

Turn 113, January 10 1945
US&Pacific: I spotted Japanese light Cruiser with my sub near Iwo-Jima. I wonder if it is an element of bigger picture or just some lone patrolling vessel. Landing on Kwajlein failed. One marine and one core was not enough, because all the hexes in this tiny Island are occupied, so I got only two attacks. Screw it for now, I need troops elsewhere. China: Japs moved another army, its just behind Xining. Another Army is in Xining itself, but under constant artillery fire and Chinese planes bombs and in low supply.
India/Burma: 日鬼 fighters are death reapers to USAF forces. I tried bombing only once, with my Us-china Task Force, and even with an escort(!) it was mowed down to two points, after one attack. I spent remaining US points to reinforce USAF. British Empire bought a corps. What was else to do? I fired my artillery group and damaged Japanese Army down to 5 points. Other theaters: I spotted some strange movement, Japanese corps on Sachalin. He might want to take a town there to got morale boost. I bought garrison for Soviets. It should be enough to guard it away from some lone corps with low supply and no HQ. (If he would move HQ to Sachalin I would be super surprised). Australia bought a corps. Kanga Force moved, and it will join the big push, it will unload in Port Blair next turn. This will delay by one turn British part of the great attack.
Remarks: T-2 steps as planned. I added in LCI’s one mechanized from Penape, and rocket artillery arrived at Truk.
Science and Diplomacy: None.

Re: Day of Infamy AAR Allies, full turn-by-turn
Turn 115, January 30 1945
US&Pacific: US NAVY went to position together with amphibious forces, as planned. USA re-bought fighters, and transferred tactical bombers to India, since I have no other theatre to use it. China: Chinese army is marching from Urumqi. I also bought Special forces. Xining bombed and shelled.
India/Burma: Slaughter! Japanese attacked on multiple directions, and with not saving lives of their pilots, using their all their air force in the theatre, destroyed on Australian Army, one British Army, and what was most painful, USAF fighter, which was actually not under protection of AA-my bad. I replied with Artillery shelling and bringing reinforcements to hold the line. This turn in India counts definitely for my opponent. Other theaters: I decided to keep Royal Navy north to Australia. If I pass strait by Port Moresby, Petisch will see me. It’s better to keep hidden. Those forces are weak anyway. US Paratrooper went into para-drop mode. Another Paratrooper will join it.
Remarks: This invasion must go well. I also hope to lure some IJN, I need to decrease Japanese morale.

Turn Turn 117 February 19 1945
US&Pacific: Turn 0! Landings went as planned. San Jose was captured. It needed bombing by Medium Bombers, 3 attacks from LCI’s (level4) American Corps, and finally taken, after additional attack from LCI, by Marines division. Japanese SF was destroyed. Also Japanese garrison between Tinian and Saipan was eliminated. North to Tininan Japanese AA unit was destroyed too. Remaining Japanese SF was bombed by BB(settlement) also port was damaged to level 3. I couldn’t finish it off, because Japanese fleet was spotted. Not gonna lie, I had a hunch, and was planning to recon this area by subs, but my Intelligence (level 3) gave me location of Japanese Carrier at 82,56. That gave me certainty. I quickly did the math, and find out that my carriers could reach Japanese ones. Decision could be only one: Full attack. 3 Japanese Carriers were sunk, and 2 were damaged. On the way, I also damaged a battleship, a Heavy Cruiser and a destroyer. It was easy to do, because only one Japanese carrier was in air patrol mode, others didn’t scramble their planes. I guess Petisch did it on purpose to avoid detection. According to my estimation, as Japan started with 4 Carriers, and later Petisch built Shinano, I hit every carrier he had. Maybe escort carrier remained. Therefore, I know he can’t hit back with carrier power. To protect my Carriers I put live wall of my battleships around my carriers, subs, everything I got. I even took Royal Navy south to Guam ready to fight if needed. If he decide to attack with his battleships and heavy Cruisers, well let it be, he will have losses to. I am afraid though of kamikazes, and if they can reach my ships from Japan. Anyway, a true Samurai would charge the enemy in this situation and I am expecting nothing less from Petisch.
China: Xinning bombed and shelled, Chinese reinforcements are coming.
India/Burma: Japanese attacked and destroyed 14th British Army. They also heavily damaged British artillery and it needed to be railed away for recovery. It costed Japan an Army which was mowed down by British Tanks and American Tactical Bombers and Australian Artillery. Another vanguard Army of Chinese offensive were seriously bombed by USAF. However, I need to point it out, losses in planes are grave. It’s good additional Fighter from US just arrived. Other theaters: HQ, Heavy Tanks and Tanks (US) from strategic reserve in Australia are heading Burma front. Kanga force in Port Blair loaded into LCI’s. It’s next turn showtime for this Task Force.
Remarks: BTW, plan worked. Goals on Saipan are taken, and great sea battle just occurred.

Turn 119 March 11 1945
US&Pacific: Petisch run away! No Kamikazes whatsoever. US NAVY bombed flat Iwo-Jima. Subs run to cover Japanese supply lines. Carriers went to south to reinforce and get ready for more battles! I will also attack Kwaleijn in 4 turns with some cores from USA. Or maybe I shouldn’t? And just focus on big fish. I took Lorengau on the way, when reserve troops were coming back from Saipan. China: same old
India/Burma: Fierce Jap air attack against my planes. I lost a fighter, but it costed the Japanese dearly, since he attacked in AA fire. I don’t mind another fighter will come next turn, US immediately re-bought the fighter. I moved USAF back some hexes. Reinforcements are on the way and even Heavy Tank already landed. Let him think he is strong there. Other theaters: Landing near Rangoon, Australia send corps! US Paras on Borneo will die of starvation. Remarks: Soviets should sent corps by sea to Sachalin when the ice will melt. I need quickly thin over my next move.
Science and Diplomacy: no BTW Soviets have Heavt Tanks five, when they will attack they will rip Japanese defenses apart.

Turn 121 March 31, 1945
US&Pacific: US Sub in Tonkin Bay was encountered by Jap Light Cruiser, which lost 5 points. Unfortunately Jap Navy bombers or strategic ones, destroyed it. Philippines in terms of controlling the airspace are very well managed. That is why, I am not going to attack there! US NAVY withdraw back to bases for replenishment and resupply. Marines took Saipan. All Marianas Islands are secure now. Next move, in 3 turns is to invade Iwo-Jima. I will send 4 cores, medium bombers and Marines. It should be enough.
China: Continue to shell Xining.
India/Burma: All quiet. US unload additional reinforcements. I spent tons of MPP’s to replenish losses in USAF. I deployed additional fighter there. Other theaters: Maritime bombers made recon flight across Java, and gathered interesting intel. Australia deployed corps at Perth and re-bought Army. Task force attacked Rangoon again, but with no success. From the north Japanese light tank approaches. Remarks: Japan has 113k morale. I consider taking Manila as not worth it, since intel shows it is very well defended. Batavia looks easier, but still its far away. There is however another option, option for total victory! After Iwo Jima I just do operation Downfall, and take north of Japan. Before, I will try to lure Japanese Navy into battle one more time, while taking Iwo Jima. At the same time, troops in Burma supported by tanks will start destroying mass of Jap forces, and thus damage Japan’s morale. But what is more important, I need to brak IJN to make vast landings at crucial points, highly valued in NM, such as Seul, which is -12500NM effect for Japs.
Science and Diplomacy: USA developed Industrial tech 5 and Ground Attack Weapons 3.

Re: Day of Infamy AAR Allies, full turn-by-turn
1945 Victory Strategy:
Let’s do the math: Japan has 113k NM now. To win, at least minor victory I need to bring it down to less than 15%. In May, Japan will suffer heavy penalty, 25k because Germany will surrender. Additionally in August, A-bomb will be dropped, this is scheduled, since I’ve taken control over Saipan. That’s another minus 25k. There is 63k left. I am planning to take Iwo-Jima in 3 turns, that’s -7.5k. 55.5k left. I am assuming, I will make landing in Japan, and take Tokyo(-20k). Several cities like Nagoya (-5k) and Osaka (-7.5k), still, 23k left!!! Soviets most probably would take Hskiang (-5k). 18k left. Then I would only need to take Harbin (-7.5k) or Seul (-12.5k even better), or some Chinese city like Shanghai (-5k) or Nanjing (-5k). Attacking Japan variant, instead of landing on heavy fortified Philippines, has many advantages: IJN will most probably fight, because blocking Japan from reinforcements from other places would mean quick and smooth taking over the whole Island. Secondly, it will drastically reduce Petisch’s MPP’s income. Thirdly, it opens up, all NM worthy targets like Seul or Beijing. Fourth, he will be reluctant to make Hiroshima or Nagasaki garrisoned by serious troops, since he knows they will be bombed with Atom. Fifth, Japan is finally big enough, that Americans have enough space to unfold their land forces. Especially when they will call for troops from Europe(and I will). I can win this game, if I concentrate my efforts on the the main prize.
Road-map: take Iwo Jima, try to lure IJN to fight. Then mark interest in Philippines or Java. As soon as possible invade Japan itself. Afterwards proceed with high-value NM locations.

Turn 123, April 20 1945
US&Pacific: There is no much time left. US Corps started loading LCI’s they will gather east to Iwo-Jima, far away from kamikaze range from Japan. Navy will form Hedgehog as last time. Carriers in Australia were reinforced, there won’t be another chance to do so any time soon.I’ve moved US HQ to Saipan to provide supply. I upgraded medium bomber on Guam it will move to Saipan next turn to bomb Iwo-Jima before the invasion. I need to locate IJN too. China: Chinese Army cased some damage to two Japa Armies. India/Burma: Japanese with support of artillery destroyed on British core. I used my air forces, and with huge losses, managed to destroy one Japanese Army. US Tanks proved not to be a formidable force, they barely inflicted any casualties on Jap Army. Now I think it was mistake, I should upgrade bombers first to Ground Weapons 3, but I was eager for success, and to support my troops which landed near Rangoon. Those Japanese fighters in Burma must have lots of experience, they caused significant losses. Other theaters: US Paratrooper lost in Brunei Jungle was eliminated. It has 1 point left, 0 supply, and I decided to finish it in combat, but he did not inflict any casualties. Remarks: Time is running fast. 12 moves left. As soon as I take Iwo Jima, I will start organizing landing task force for Operation Downfall.

Turn 125, May 10 1945
US&Pacific: Iwo Jima T-1. Troops are still gathering, next turn concentration will be complete around Marcus Island. I could really use some Intel. In a way I am exposed for attack, but with only two carriers left I don’t think Petisch will dare. China: Chinese continue the war of attrition. Next turn I will move China strategic task force to China, and bomb xining cutting off supply.
India/Burma: Japanese destroyed one British Army unit, but they did it under massive defending(My artillery had 3 shells) artillery shelling, suffering heavy losses. They also eliminated Australian Special Forces near Rangoon. I upgraded all US bombers to ground weapons 3, reinforced fighters and tanks. I fired remaining shells on Jap Army, leaving it with 2 points. British SF near Madras loaded in LCI. It will land somewhere in Malayas. Other theaters: Australian Core landed north to Kuala Lumpur, also I moved as provocation a Marine unit in LCI, near Port Moresby heading west. It actually had really low morale and under strength, and was heading Australia to rest before Downfall, but it was a good way to mark my intentions on Java. Australian corps in Perth loaded into LCI, it will land somewhere, according to reports from US maritime bomber in Moluccas. All this in order to confuse Petisch about the main direction of my final push.
Remarks: Germany capitulated and Japanese morale dropped to 86k.

Re: Day of Infamy AAR Allies, full turn-by-turn
Turn 127 May 30 1945
US&Pacific: Iwo-Jima’s airfield was taken! Three US Corps attacked from the LCI’s, and then Marine division landed. Only Jap garrison remained on mount Suribachi. US airship spotted two kamikazes, a fighter and AA unit near Tokio. US Intelligence located Japanese Heavy Cruiser near Shanghai. It confirmed my suspicions about whereabouts of Japanese Fleet. The great machine is in motion, it can’t be stopped now, too many units in LCI’s already. Problem is I got only one HQ nearby on Saipan, and it is not even in LCI yet. Other troops in LCI started to form armada east to Japan. I wonder what will Petisch do, will he attack those three US corps in LCI’s east to Iwo Jima. I have logistic problems to coordinate masses to land in Japan, while not everything is ready, but on the other hand there is no time to accurate allocation of forces, nor good logistic point to attack Japan. But there is no other choice if I want to win this game. Japanese Home Guard mobilized. US deployed Navy, Air and Land assets from Europe to the West Coast. China: Chinese-American Strategic Bomber moved to China. Land forces continued pressure on Xining. Special forces are on their way from Urumqi.
India/Burma: Japan destroyed UK’s Army unit, which was immediately re-bought. Allies replied with shelling and bombing one Jap army, but it wasn’t enough to eliminate it. Paratroopers and Commandos between Bangkok and Rangoon are surrounded and on the brink of collapse. Additional Commando in LCI moved to Port Blair. USAF deployed additional bombers west to Calcutta. Other theaters: Australian Corps in LCI sail north to make diversion landing, US maritime Bomber continue recon flights over Java.
Remarks: Soviets deployed veterans from Europe. Soviet SF will perform landing in Korea.

Turn 129, June 19 1945
US&Pacific: Forces concentrated near Hokkaido Island. Since the HQ just loaded LCI, and is still on Saipan, I will need to launch attack without it, and I have there only two Marines divisions, therefore capture of towns and ports is essential. If there is an army, I will be screwed, however, I calculate it as not very probable. Also I landed on small Island next to Nagasaki. Only to face whole shore occupied, by swarming Japanese units. I hope it will keep him thinking I am landing in the southern part of the Island. Second Echelon Is just passing Truk. Third echelon is at Hawaii(troops from Europe). Next turn I need to take foothold in the north of Japan. No trace of IJN though. This turn I am somehow exposed, but I need to risk, there is no time for slow approach. Next turn I will deploy US fighters on Iwo-Jima to provide some additional air cover. China: Attacking Xining. Strategic bombers didn’t help.
India/Burma: With artillery and air power I destroyed one Japanese Army, almost with no casualties. I bombed Rangoon Port with BB and planes from Brtish carrier.
Other theaters: Commandos took Kuala Lumpur. Remarks: There is 10 Allied turns left If I am not mistaken. C’mon! Soviets deployed one corps and SF unit behind Vladivostok, I will put them in LCI’s and land at Japanese rear.

Re: Day of Infamy AAR Allies, full turn-by-turn
Turn 131, July 9 1945
US&Pacific: American armada getting ready to invade Japan met fierce Japanese resistance, even before they reached the beach. Japanese showed contempt on death, and 3 kamikazes units attacked American vessels. Even one Jap Maritime Bomber was so determined to kill, that it actually died in a second attack on the LCI. They were met by fierce US NAVY Carriers fighters, but it wasn’t enough. Two american cores were sunk together with their LCI’s. Two Battleships were damaged heavily, and one destroyer as well. As I mentioned before, the US machine is in motion and can’t be stopped. Americans landed on Hokkaido, destroyed one Japanese corps, captured port city, and cut of a SF unit and an Army. However they landed without HQ, and newly captured town can provide only limited supply. I bombed with Battleship a town on the border of the Hokkaido Island hoping it will destroy its railroad(will it?) and prevent Petisch from moving his reinforcements. He will counter-attack, but question is, if he has enough juice to do so.
Another waves of troops are on their way, next turn second wave would hit the beaches of Japan, this time, I hope they won’t be depleted by air attacks, since 3 kamikaze units were used and one Naval Bomber died in attack. Main point is if he will be able to destroy my beachhead. There is no choice, victory or death, wave after wave I must break the defenders of this damn Island! China: Xinning attack. It is good that two Japanese armies and one core are occupied there.
India/Burma: Japanese destroyed British commando south to Bangkok. Royal Navy destroyed both ports in Rangoon, preventing Japanese to move their forces from Burma. Allied forces in Burma with assistance of the USAF destroyed another Japanese Army. Manchuria: Red Army moved to starting positions to attack. I discovered I can’t load my Soviet SF into amphibious transport. I guess you need to be at war? What if I can’t, because I don’t have any tech? I am now cursing myself I didn’t bought rocket artillery for Soviets. I did although invested a lot in Tanks, and now I have three units on level 5, I hope they will roll over Japanese Kwantung Army like ants. A lot depends on the Soviets, they might swing the balance in National Morale towards my side. I have big hopes for them.
Other theaters: Australian Army landed on Sumatra. Commandos near Kuala Lumpur reinforced. One Australian corps headed north in direction of Bangkok. In Singapore there is only Indian Corps. I am thinking, that I might take it, if I will move some USAF bombers, and maybe Australian HQ and one more unit. I am not sure, because Singapore does not provide any extra NM penalty for the Japan. It only helps Allies. I also choked Malaya Strait with mu sub and destroyer. He attacked my sub with destroyer and motor boat, but couldn’t sink it. I Replied with my destroyer. Additional Australian corps in LCI is coming from the South.
Remarks: I am afraid my plan may fail. I guess I got „Market-Garden” syndrome. Ambitious operation, but allied forces stretched out, need to enter the battle in waves...And as famously polish General Sosabowski(Commander of 1st Polish Paratrooper Brigade)said, when the British told him about their plan to land near Arnhem, „All, good, very impressive plan, but what about the Germans?”. Yeah. What about the Japanese? I have a feeling I miscalculated the potentials.

Re: Day of Infamy AAR Allies, full turn-by-turn
Turn 133, July 29 1945
US&Pacific: Kamikazes together with maritime bombers sunk two US NAVY battleships, I realized Japan has 4 fighter units on the island... I am suffering heavy losses with my carrier planes trying to protect my fleet from kamikazes. Japanese fiercely counterattacked American bridgehead on Hokkaido. I managed to destroy cut off Jap SF unit, and place US HQ on this small peninsula. Clark should have some experience with this kind of situations after Anzio, after all. So even if Japanese destroyed 2 american corps and marine division, additional corps was able to unload in port(i captured it without destructing the city). I don’t think he will be able to kick Americans out from there for now. I decided to land second wave near Aomori, because after air recon(costly due to Japanese fighters) I saw it was only defend by garrison, and beaches south to it were defended by corps. However I made stupid brain fart mistake. I moved my Tanks in LCI for full 18 hexes, and after LCI attack, couldn’t unload it. Those poor bastards are stuck there in LCI, presenting their butts to whole Japanese air force. They will be dead, more then sure. Another thing, after this I also realized that my only unit that can reach the town was...HQ. Three other units were already there, so no choice i landed my HQ over there. It will most probably die too.
Third wave is on its way. One lone marine LCI, assisted by Royal Navy, moved near Okinawa, I will try to find some spot, where I could take some ground for free. If this unit will survive.
I moved fighters from US to Iwo-Jima. I hope it will catch some Jap plane. China: Chinese corps, that tried to cut off the Xining was actually cut off by Jap corps from Lanzhou. Chinese bought Army.
India/Burma: Japanese resistance is super fierce, I don’t know why, maybe his HQs are well experienced... Anyway I managed to destroy another Japanese Army, and almost destroyed artillery unit. Allied tanks actually advanced a little. All this success was possible only because of the strong USAF support. Other theaters: IJN mad its move, and destroyed Australian Destroyer at the straits of Moluccas. Low hanging fruit I would say. Additional Australian corps landed on Sumatra and is heading Singapore. Remarks: This landing in Japan reminds me the movie „Starship Troopers” from the 90s: like in the movie, enemy territory turn over to be a dead trap. Wherever I want to land, it is swarming with Japanese troops. It is far more difficult then I thought. I don’t think I am going to win this, but I will dance till the end. Most probably Japanese minor victory.

Turn 135 August 18 1945
US&Pacific: As i thought Japanese destroyed American HQ in Aomori, and mechanized troops and Corps are without supply. Tanks in LCI’s were wiped out by Japanese air force. Second wave troops attacked on Hokkaido, cut off Japanese Army, and destroyed corps and light tank. Marines landed south to Seul only to discover it is guarded by corps. A-Bombs were dropped, but Japanese morale is still 52%, and no perspectives for capturing NM objectives. I proved to be awful general xD China: Chinese try, but no success whatsoever.
India/Burma: Tanks supported by (useless-they can’t make even -1 on Jap Army, fully upgraded and with high supply) USAF, managed to destroy Jap Army(actually it is artillery that did the job), HQ and artillery. Also American paratroopers landed. Nice operational success, but too late, with no influence to the endgame result. Other theaters: Japanese planes from carriers and Thailand destroyed Australian Army on Sumatra, they also sunk British destroyer in Malacca strait. Remarks: don’t know how it is possible Japan has such a large army...they are everywhere, I flew over Palau and Peleliu, they are still fully garrisoned, 2 SF, 2AA and a garrison in between.
Science and Diplomacy: I am an idiot. I don’t know why, I totally forgot to declare war on Japan by the Soviets, this thought exploded in my mind literally after I clicked to finish the turn...I could have done it in the previous turn actually. Damn it. Well, It is embarrassing to make it public, but maybe it will help somebody playing as Allies, and who is going to actually read it, that, yes, you need to do it manually. So good I am not a real general, and it’s just a game!

Re: Day of Infamy AAR Allies, full turn-by-turn
Turn 137, September 7 1945
US&Pacific: Carnage in Japan. Marines sunk in LCI’s near Hokkaido. Cut off US troops near Aomori: Mechanized Corps, Corps and marines were destroyed. Hokkaido group, went to defense. Other troops in LCI’s and in loading will head Korea. Another marine landed near Seul and cut off the city from Pusan. I blocked the bay and Japan’s ports with my light ships. If he swarmed everything he had to protect Japan, let him be locked there. I will try take Seul, maybe Shanghai if some troops in LCI’s will survive the trip. I suppose IJN may appear and try to unlock the home Islands. I reconed Okinawa it is also full of troops. How it is even possible. I remember playing as Japan, I never had such massive land force. China: Chinese Army that tried to cut off Xining was actually cut off by Japan, and was destroyed.
India/Burma: British tanks destroyed Jap HQ and took Ledo. Other troops can’t finish off Japanese Armies... they are running away. USAF as usual in relation cost/effect proved to be god damn waste of taxpayer’s money. Fancy planes, bullshit. Artillery do the job far more effectively. Or maybe its experience issue. I bombed with strategic planes towns where Jap fighters stationed. It doesn’t seem to help. Other theaters: Australians approached Singapore, one US medium Bomber moved there it will bomb the city.
Remarks: I am going to lose, unless miracle will happen and Soviets will take loads of objective and Americans would take Beijing, Shanghai, Qingdao... very little probability.
Soviets: On nice thing(why oh why I did forget... I could have been two turns ahead...), Soviet tanks with level 5 and experience, run through Japanese defenders like it was a picnic. Two Japanese corps were destroyed. There is high possibility Russians will reach Hskiang and Harbin. Soviet marines landed in Korea, near Phenian.

Re: Day of Infamy AAR Allies, full turn-by-turn
Turn 139, Septmeber 27 1945
US&Pacific: Slaughter continues. Petisch found out that Americans are trying to take Korea, so he unleashed all he had against the landing task force: kamikazes, air force and carriers. Three LCI’s were sunk(2 corps one marines), the fourth one, mechanized infantry in LCI was reduced to 1 and needed to head back to Saipan. Petisch used 3 kamikaze, and also in his desperation used two of his maritime bombers, till they were destroyed. Also 1 UK sub was sunk as well as 1 UK and 1 US destroyer. Americans and British respond with everything they got: 3 Japanese Carriers were sunk(I thought he has only two remaining). It costed US carriers almost all their planes strength to finish the job. Also Japanese Heavy Cruiser was sunk, and Battleship was damaged. Basically he has only old-fashioned fleet left, but he does not know that my Carriers are empty, so I can’t sink his cruisers and battleships now with my planes. I wonder what will Petisch do. I only know one thing: I MUST TAKE SEUL. China: Same old, but this time made some losses for Jap army.
India/Burma: Allies pursuit, give some beating to Japanese, but no kills. USAF proved to be not worthy the mony again and again. Can’t deliver losses to Japanese Army with 1% morale, although with two stars experience. Strategic bombers drop their loads to Jap fighter bases and towns in the Jap rear. Other theaters: Singapore bombed and attacked by the Australians, no success so far.
Remarks: There is a slight chance that Japanese morale will drop below 17%. Small but there is. Now Japanese have 43%. Hskiang 7.5k + Harbin 5k + Seul 12.5k=25k that will drop the Japanese. Maybe with some additional losses to Japanese, who knows. Maybe.
US has loaded the last wave in Saipan: Two Corps, One Cavalry Division, Bradley HQ, AA, and Tanks. I hold them for one turn, I want to see how the sea battle will develop.
Soviets: Red Army rolled over Japanese, and reached outskirts of Hskiang. Soviet Marines destroyed garrison at Pyongyang and head to Mukden. Soviet tanks lead the way, other units are not performing that good. My third tank stuck in the mud in the north. Level 5 tanks proved to be a good investment.

Re: Day of Infamy AAR Allies, full turn-by-turn
Turn 141, October 17 1945
Soviets: The Red Army saved the day! Thanks to super tanks, in this turn I managed to capture Mukden(-10kNM for Japanese), Hskiang(-5k) and Harbin(-7.5k). Japanese morale was 42%, so I guess it dropped about to 20%. That means, the miracle victory is still possible. Soviets so far proved to be the most effective force on land. I will need to be extremely careful with my next moves. Tank units are crucial in taking NM points. US&Pacific: Japanese fleet fled, by while saying „sayonara” sunk US destroyer and Battleship. Counting on morale break of the Axis, I moved my last wave near Okinawa, so from there I can reach Seul, Shanghai, Qingdao or Naha NM points. Remaining ships of Royal Navy and US Navy formed hedgehog around it, other smaller vessels block Japanese ports, preventing bringing reinforcements to Korean Peninsula. Two submarines block strait between Taiwan and Philippines. Everything depends on, how many of this wave will survive. There isn’t much fighter cover, only one escort Carrier and depleted British and US carrier. Other carriers limped away, because they literally have no planes at all or around 2 points only. Petisch turn now will be crucial, I hope he doesn’t have enough juice to sink them all. Problem is I spotted Yamato in Shanghai... Two Marine divisions south to Seul need support, otherwise they won’t take the city. There are two moves left. I might be able to transport one Soviet tank from the North together with HQ around Pyongyang. Then, in final turn it should be enough to take Seul.
On Hokkaido Japanese destroyed one US core, heavy artillery came from US to strengthen the bridgehead.
China: Chinese stubbornly attack on Xining, and almost succeeded, Japanese Army there has only 1 strength point left.
India/Burma: Allies managed to destroy one light tank, but their advance is sluggish. USAF again proven to be worthless, couldn’t cause literally even one point loss for Jap units. Other theaters: US Strategic bomber deployed on Sumatra. British and Australians stormed Singapore, but Indian corps is resisting.
Remarks: Everything lays on morale, there is still some hope for breaking the Axis morale, but I need luck and some skill... Usually I lack both:)

Re: Day of Infamy AAR Allies, full turn-by-turn
Turn 143, November 6
US&Pacific: US forces finally captured Seoul! It turned out Japan had not enough juice to kill the final wave. Jap corps was destroyed. IJN only used Yamato to finish off damaged British Cruiser outside Shanghai. Another troops landed and stormed Qingdao. Last troop, tanks, landed in Jiangsu province and head towards Nanjing. US NAVY was also able ot surround Jap Heavy Cruiser in port of Seol and one Battleship in Qingdao port. On Hokkaido Japanese destroyed marines division, Americans replied with Heavy and rocket artillery destroying Japanese Army. Americans have additional corps in transport, waiting in the sea, because there is no enough space on the bridgehead to deploy. USA dropped third A-bomb on Osaka. Soviets: Since the Americans took Seoul, and Manchurian units surrendered, Red Army took Beijing as their final goal. All tanks were moved in this direction: Two tanks reached outskirts of Tianjin, another was moved by rail to Mukden.
China: Attack on Xinning, recon in direction of Ningxia. India/Burma: Japanese destroyed one British corps near Kohima which went too far forward. Allied with using all their artillery and air force destroyed Japanese Army at Ganges delta. US Paratroopers tried to take over Wuting, but they jumped straight on Japanese HQ, and most probably will be eliminated:( Other theaters: Attack and bombardment of Singapore by the British and Australians.
Remarks: Japanese morale was 21k, and it dropped by taking Seoul(-12.5k) and Qingdao(-5k). They will recover few hundred for holding Manila and Batavia, and maybe from destroying some of allied units during Petisch’s move. To make long story short: If I take Beijing on final turn I am going to break Japan and win. If not, it will be stalemate I guess? One strange thing: there is no Japan troops in Nanjing, and American tanks are literally two hexes away. Overall Jap morale is around 3-4k. Shouldn’t be there some Chinese uprising trigger, especially no axis troops in Nanjing?

Turn 145, November 26 1945
US&Pacific: IJN attacked:Yamato and Musashi super-battleships swim out of Shanghai and sunk US NAVY battleship and super battleship. Japanese air force from the home Island almost sunk Soviet Light cruiser. On Hokkaido Japanese tanks destroyed american Corps. I knew that to be 100% sure to break Japanese morale, I need to destroy as many as possible Japanese troops. In Seoul i sunk trapped in port Japanese heavy cruiser. Also in Fuzhou British planes from Carrier sunk damaged Heavy Cruiser. I looked a bit for IJN apart from Shanghai, but Japanese ships were too far to hit. China: Chinese fired everything they had, but only again depleted japan's Army to 2 points in Xining. India/Burma: Japanese killed US paratroopers lost in Burma jungle. Brits tried to got some kills, but couldn’t achieve. Other theaters: Australians together with British commando and USAF finally took Singapore and destroyed Indian corps.
Soviets: At the beginning of turn Japan had 5053 NM points. After I inflicted some casualties, it dropped to 3000. To achieve victory, I needed Beijing, because it would reduce Japanese morale -5k. And although I saw Petisch transported some corps to Nanjing, I was surprised, when I saw Beijng unoccupied. Red Army triumphantly rode into the city. Victory was secured.
Soviets also took Port Arthur(Dailan-but this gives only morale boost for Soviets).
After I clicked „end of the turn”, the following happened: Japanese Surrendered, and each country triggered event, for example „Allies liberated China”; „Allies liberated Philippines” etc. Japanese units disappeared from the map, and ALLIED DECIESIVE VICTORY popped up. After all mistakes I made, I was able to bring Japan down in the last(?) turn!
US&Pacific: IJN attacked:Yamato and Musashi super-battleships swim out of Shanghai and sunk US NAVY battleship and super battleship.
