RTW3: v.1.00.51 Public Beta Now Available

Rule the Waves III is a simulation of naval ship design and construction, fleet management and naval warfare from 1890 to 1970. and will place you in the role of 'Grand Admiral' of a navy from the time when steam and iron dominated warship design up to the missile age.

RTW3: v.1.00.51 Public Beta Now Available

Hello everyone,

There's a new public beta update installer available at the following download link: HERE

For Steam users, you can switch to it by going to RTW3 in your Steam Library, right-clicking on it, choosing Properties -> Betas -> then choosing the latest beta branch from the drop-down list and allowing Steam to update your game. If it updates correctly, you should see the latest beta version listed as your version in-game on the bottom right.

What's New in Version 1.00.51:

• Fixed some tech inconsistencies when playing with low research speed.
• Made sure the AI is not building airbases or carriers ahead of their time in games with low research speed

What's New in Version 1.00.49:

Campaign Generation
• France might now have one or two CV in a 1935 start.
• All nations might have CVL in a 1935 start.
• Fixed a data error that could cause a communist China to have the wrong flag in a 1920 start.
• Fixed a bug with legacy ships occasionally having a missile maintenance cost even though missiles were not invented.

Strategic Layer
• Made unrest more likely to come down when naval budget is low.
• Fixed a bug where AI nations said they cancelled an alliance but then didn't.

Battle Resolution
• Some additional adjustments to splinter and HE penetration.
• Some tweaks to make AI ships less likely to get hung up on land.

Ship Design
• Fixed a bug with the number of secondary guns determining the ammo loadout for the tertiary guns.

Officers
• Commanders will no longer risk dying in fleet exercises.

Game Preferences
• Mitigated some tech inconsistencies when playing with very low research speed.

But my Incompetent subordinates accidentally, brutally, falling through the Bridge window while it's still closed is Naval Tradition! [1] :D

v1.00.49 broke the game, has the latest update fixed it?

There's a recurring bug that prevents the game selecting a flagship for the player in the battle game. That means that there are no player fleets displayed. It makes it rather one-sided. Still happens after installing the latest update.

It didn't happen before I installed the update, or during beta testing.

Next time it happens I'll post a screen grab of the error message.

Thanks. Is this consistently reproducible? Do you have a save you could share with us demonstrating the issue?
