Even though a ML is always a good weapon to have as a backup, again AI and heat-management problems have made me consider for a long time dropping such an asset in a couple of designs for something more "in character", namely a SRM4 rack.
Here's the first design, the Crusader: better DCS (always good where there's lots of ammo); very slight armor increase; slightly better heat dissipation (always welcome when there's a shield involved). It loses the ability to ignite woods, but with the missile load it carries, no woods can last long. Doesn't need energy skill, which is good for the AI.

this seems powerful titan, but shortage of ammo must predict sometimes escape from battlefield (or use skirmish tactic but assault class is too slow for this)
