Player-ran Multiplayer Campaign

Seeing as there are not many people playing this game in MP despite its potential I have remembered something I did with a couple of friends in X-W vs T-F: A Multiplayer campaign. This would work that way: a group of game masters keep track of the star systems controlled by the two parties whose goal it is, of course, to wipe out the other party. Every week, the High Command of each party sends in their orders (to move troops, invade planets etc.) to the gamemasters who create a mission for all players involved in the action. All in all, in would be an extended MP-Campaign with strategic elements.. would anyone be willing to try that out?
