Question About DL version

I just started Reach for the Stars for the first time to fire up a game and can't play the intro movie, I just bought this and thought i was purchasing an exact copy of the game on cd just without you having to deliver it not a Movie light version.
I played the 83 release till my eyes bled and even with the minor complaints on it thought it would be nice to have a graphically nicer version of the game. BTW I still play my old RFTS on dos box with sound and all.
So whats the deal....is there an intro movie and are there like cut scenes in the game and what am I missing cause I purchased the DL version and why wasn't this stated on the website? aooreciate the response also this isnt my first purchase fgrom you guys and probably wont be my last as I do love all forms of strategy games i was just wondering?
