need help with passing

Post by bluehorse »

just got the game and tried the PDS. not very intuitive at all. ive figured out most of the stuff, but i cant get the QB to pass the ball. no matter what i try, he drops back and then takes off running.

when i load other plays with passes, the qb "logic" commands are only "drop back to point". when i run these he passes, but if i delete his dropback path and change it, he wont pass anymore. im i missing something here?

thanks in advance for any help.

Make sure when you create a play, it is a pass play.
Also, the QB should have a 'Pass' logic, and make sure your receivers have 'Look for Pass' logic set at some point.

ive made sure of both and the QB always just takes off.

whats funny is when i open an existing play, the QB has only the drop back logic and he throws with no problem. thats why i thought i was missing something. i saw on another post here that someone else had the same problem...is there a step by step on creating a pass play somewhere?

thanks for the response.

First logic should be drop back

Then you add his route

At the end of his route (where the square is), you add Pass

ok. i select the QB, put drop back in the command line that comes up when i select him, then i hit the route button and draw his drop back, then i right click to quit drawing and select pass - read from the 2nd line in his command line box.

that sounds like what you are saying, but the QB takes off every time.

i was missing something.  after the drop back, you need to select the small square for the next set of instructions.  got it.  its not very intuitive.  thanks for the suggestions/help gents.

make sure your WR are set on "look for pass".

set "wait .15" command before QB "pass" command

Make sure all Pass and Look for Pass commands are before any Move To: commands.

Nothing after the Move To: command will be run, as the logic is already going to the next logic box.
