1964 College League: National Rankings for 10/27/64

Post by Old Coach »

Here are the national rankings for week 6 of my 1964 College league. I have 51 teams in this league. I'm playing full 10 game schedules with the SEC teams as the SEC was in 1964 along with Memphis State, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Army and Navy. The records of the other teams listed in the top 20 are projections or fantasy, whichever you want to call it. I have 10 bowl games to play after the regular season is over. I will match up the top 20 teams in these bowl games.

Ramblin' Wreck!

I miss the Bluebonnet and Tangerine Bowls, and the days when the Cotton Bowl was a player in the national championship picture. God, I hate the BCS....

My gosh Old Coach, why did you include Louisville in your replay?

We were 1-9 that year.

Reminds me of what I told my wife the first time she saw me naked.

"Don't laugh, it gets bigger."

I've always kind of liked Louisville except, of course, when they play Tennessee. I didn't intend for it to be this way, but Louisville is on a pace to repeat that stellar 1-9-0 record in this 1964 College League.
They opened by beating Kentucky 9-0 and then lost to Memphis State 54-7, Florida State 34-7 and Southern Mississippi 21-14. Their next game is against 0-5-0 Vanderbilt. Maybe they'll win that one.

Good to see the BIG RED ,going undefeated. I had just moved to calif , in 64 from huskerland . So missed a lot of there building a dynasty in the big 8 . Really wish they had never changed from 8 to 12 . Same with the pac 8 chaning to pac 10 .
