So...AE looks like it won't be for sale for at least 3 more months.

I want to buy a game but nothing I'm interested in is ready at the moment. BOB/BTR, AE are not ready. The Close Combat releases don't look any different from the old releases.
Any suggestions? Kinda watching out for the Jutland sim by the guys who did Distant Guns but that is ages away too.

I may be ignorant to some tidbit of information, but how do you know that it wont be ready for three more months?
Other than that, I am in the same problem [:D]

I'd love to have the game now as I will be off work for another three or four months and have a lot of time to play.
But I'd rather wait for a completed product. Take your time guys, we'll still be here waiting for it.

I was just reading that it normally takes a few months once a game design has gone "gold" to be released and we are not there yet. I don't mind the wait other than the fact my Greek address is somewhat dodgy (the resort does not really have standard addresses) and is half way around the friggin' planet...possibly limiting my chances of getting a first run copy.

The biggest problem I've had with WitP is that once you've played it, going back to something less detailed and historically accurate is hard to do with a straight face. Most WWII 'simulations' tend to be balanced rather than accurate sadly.
Only acceptable game I can think of is far less detailed (and once you've started the game forget historic) but can be a nice 'what if' scenario maker: Hearts of Iron 2. Even this game seems more like a beer and pretzel kinda deal compared to WitP but then what doesn't?
EDIT: Yes, I'd love AE to come out ASAP but it would be a choice between getting a game partially completed now and waiting a few months for patches or just waiting for the full game. Kind of a moot proposition in my opinion.

There is always hope. A tiny part of me is still hoping Dec 7 for a big surprise but i would have thought somebody would have popped with excitement by now and leaked - quite literally

Leaked what? AE is a PIGment of your imagination. Doesnt exist. Probably never will. Go back to your homes, nothing to see here.

may i refer you to Mr Ts outburst, explaining he would like it finished too? As a leading exponent of 'the roswell AE' he surely now has blown the cover off the whole thing and we all know its out there - im sure the collective sum of all our belief has actually willed it into being anyway - so the credit lies with us!

Read it carefully.
What he is saying is quite clear.
He wants all this whining about a game that doesnt exist to be finished.
Clear as the face on your nose.

Fans of the Airborne Assault game engine (HTTR and COTA) are also eagerly awaiting the release of the next game in the series, Battles from the Bulge, which will also bring with it a revision of the game series name to Command Ops. I'm a beta tester for Panther Games.
The president of the company and game designer Dave O'Conner had been hoping to get the game released by December 16th for obvious reason, but has recently had to buckle down and engage in some heavy code rework. We beta testers are on hold awaiting a new build for, hopefully, final testing.
He just posted an announcement that the game will likely not release until February now as he also pointed out that it takes 4-6 weeks to for Matrix to process the actual publication once the design is final.
Ron's estimate may well be optomistic.

Is it any accident this allusion to a game that might have something to WWII in the pacific and might have something to do with upgrading the original WiTP game and might be released in a "few" months is being sold to us by a company named "Matrix"? Or is it? Is the reality that really is or merely the reality you want it to be?

Remember back when the announcement was made? Nobody leaked anything before that; our team is pretty tight.
