Don't forget Sneer. It is a pity it is an open AAR but reading between the lines Sneer is obviously doing one hell of a job.

Widell,
I'm working on it, but don't hold your breath. I'm pretty busy at the moment.

Hey, no problemo. It just sits there waiting, so take your time. Let me know when you get to it and we can do it together. Takes less time....

I'm not too eager to have this stickied - the sticky list is so cluttered with old stuff that this thread will probably draw more attention if it is regularily bumped in the main forum. I still have links to add, so I will continue bumping it myself with new additions.

BTW, if you really want to do me a favor: if someone asks a question in the forum, and you want to provide him with a link from this list, don't post the link itself. Instead, point him to this list and the relevant section. That way, the questioner might 'accidentially' stumble over even more useful links.

I just noticed that the Hoepner/Hawker game didn't make it into 1943. As much as it hurts (one of the best AAR IMO), I have to be consistent with the rules regarding AARs or else people might feel left out, so I removed them. [:(]

For the record, here are the links that won't make it into the list:

Thanks Rob! [:)]

SunDevil's links took me far into the past of this forum (Summer 2004) - many unknown faces, and a lot of today's battle-hardened veterans were still rookies at that time. [:)]

I've found many old topics about game mechanics that are already covered by newer threads in my list, while a lot of strategy threads contained advice that is (IMO) outdated - the "Full Sir Robin" and the "Empty India from all troops and move them to Burma/DEI" strategies were dominant at that time. Only few people disagreed with these strategies, among them Mr. Frag and Mogami!

SunDevil's list quickly melted down to the following topics, which have been added to the first post:

"HQ questions": Mr. Frag explains the effect of Command HQs
tm.asp?m=657184

"Observations on HQ & Replacements effects": Tests by fbastos.
tm.asp?m=687039

"Leaders Descriptions": Mike Wood explains leader values and leader characteristics.
tm.asp?m=682773

"Tips for the Royal Navy": About RN ship classes and ship withdrawals.
tm.asp?m=659737

"Preventing the fall of Rangoon"
tm.asp?m=667163

"Counter-acting Japanese Player Lingering at PH Strategy". Alternative titel: What to do with US CVs in Dec. 41.
tm.asp?m=672365

"Allied Advance from Northern Australia"
tm.asp?m=676700

"Early War Dutch Primer"
