Only $4.5 million.

What a bargain.

If we negotiate it down to $3 million, and if we all kick in $400.00 each, I think we'd have enough to buy it.

And I think we have enough people to act as a crew.

Then all we would need is some tin-pot country to invade ;)

Yea, but there still is the issue of aircraft for the aircraft carrier.

Depending on your choice of suitable aircraft, that could be the expensive part.

Although, we could put an ad in the paper:

"Wanted: experienced fighter pilots on an on-call basis. Must be willing to work for commission. Must provide own jet fighter."

Kinda has a nice ring to it :D

HMS Vengeance, orginally. NAeL Minas Gerais in the Brazilian navy. And the Australians "borrowed" her in between.

Crap, that's a WWII era carrier? What the heck are those good for these days? Target pratice? ;)

Heck, even we retired the last of the Midway class carriers in the late 80's!

Maybe we can find some WWII era planes that still fly and use this old carrier as a test bed to settle some UV/WITP arguments on sinking carriers. :D

We just need to figure out how much it would cost us each, and how much it would cost for a full tank of fuel, and we can man the crew with matrix gamers.

The crew of 1300 is included in the sale. I say we get the boat,
buy a letter of marque, and live as pirates. My childhood dream.

Arrgh, matey. . .

If they throw in a full tank of gas, 1300 eye patches and a dozen parrots, I think we'll have a deal. . .

Should be quite a hit with the ladies. . . ;)

And imagine the bowling lanes you could place on deck. . .

I can imagine the conversation:

Lady: Sooo, where do you live?

Matrix Gamer: On a World War Two aircraft carrier.

Lady: Oh? Do you fly one of those BIG impressive jets?

Matrix Gamer: Nah. It doesn't have any planes.

Lady: What do you do with the carrier?

Matrix Gamer: Me and the boys just sail around in it playing pirates and get tanked on Friday nights.

Lady: Pirates???

Matrix Gamer: Yup. Got a cool patch too. Wanna see?

Hey the used carlot down the road picked up a MIG from the Russians for $50,000. With 6 MIGs and a carrier there must be dozens of countries we could conquer.
