David,

Your first link didn't work for me and the third link apparently requires membership to access.

I fixed the first link and yes you need membership access for CombatSim which is a great site and well worth the money.

David,

Speaking of reviews, might it be a good idea to ask UV players for their personal comments/reviews about the game? Could be useful in print advertising and/or perhaps start a new section on the Matrix website just for player reviews.

You´re all free to review the game in the shop and on the Matrix main website. Use our interactive features, they´re here for some reason ;)

I'm beginning to think that the scores applied for graphics and sound are inversely proporitional to the age of the reviewer...:D

Great reviews. The Combat Sim one rocks.

Rave reviews in exotic languages...

Post by Oleg Mastruko »

http://www.bug.hr/ - this is the website of the magazine I'm working for, mainstream computer magazine, circulation 35.000, largest computer magazine in Croatia, being sold in neighboring countries too (in all of ex-Yugoslavia). For the next few days link to UV review is going to be on the top of this page.

http://www.bug.hr/master/rec/ - this is sub-site of my magazine's site, devoted specifically to games. Some (just SOME) of the game reviews from the paper magazine get posted on the web in their shortened versions. (We don't want to compromise the sales of our paper magazine :o)

Finally:

http://www.bug.hr/master/rec/valor/ - this is direct link to UV review that I (as magazine's "wargaming editor") wrote. Mind you, this is just a shortened version of the full-size review from the "paper" magazine. It was NOT written specifically for the web (even the pictures are taken from our DTP guys, after being prepared for the print so they look a bit blueish to me).

All this won't probably mean much to anyone here, due to the fact that the review is written in Croatian, but at least the final mark should be understandable to all.

Are there a lot of wargamers in Croatia? How about some of the other Balkan Country's?

All that I could really understand was the 96% I take it that that was what it was rated out of 100?????

I love the part that say "93%" :D. Too bad I can´t understand the rest.

I assume they converted them to CMYK (looks like it). However, if you attach a color profile to the files (e.g. US Web coated) and then export them to RGB, you have the correct colors again. That´s what I do to give the boss print previews he can have a look at on the monitor and that also come very near to the final print result.

Where in UV is the first Gamezone screenshot taken? It looks like a first-person shooter to me.

Computer Gaming World gave UV 3 out of 5 stars in the current issue.

I'm not sure the reviewer even played it much. Seems his only complaint was having to look after assets in Australia while playing a short campain. I'm not sure why this is an issue but I haven't played the small campaigns. I would think if its a short campaign you would just ignore any units you didn't need.

Overall a positive review with some hints for even bigger and better things for WITP.
