Looks like the Japanese have a large swathe of Australia. And India too?

Yes they sure do. This game is still going on but it is still a tough road. I have managed to land some div in the east indies, wil attempt to retake it. My navy is becoming smaller and smaller, I lost a lot of ships and did not purchase new ones early on. So I have a bit of a wait before my new carriers roll out of production.

Well the AI is a prik to say the least:)

One game it invades Port Darwin. So the next game I put 5 units around it and that seems to keep them away.
They also like to invade India and thats impossible to defend at the time they strike. The Indians showed up one turn too late.
There aren't enough British units even after bldg them from turn one on...although I could strip the Burma front.

Since Darwin was secured they are pounding southern australian.
They also like to invade Port Moseby which I could only get 2 units there at present and they invaded with 4.

Well, this war is bascially a boiling pot now. Just take a look at this screenshot of the Hawaiian islands. Yep you see it correctly, Japan has landed an infantry corp there. I only have that one div stationed there and was not expecting this. I have been fighting a formitable Japanese fleet near midway for several turns. I now believe that fleet has landed this corp on Hawaii...

This image shows the results of my attempt to take back the East Indies, as of now the troops landed there have ran into a halt due to supply shortages. If you notice, I don't have any fleets stationed there, I have a big shortage of ships. I do have some new carriers that are going to roll out of production in 10-15 turns. I actually bought about 6 and I need every last one of them. I just have finished placing some orders for several more patrol groups. I wish I would have placed these orders earlier, I need ships I tell you! Too much of my tonnage managed to find its way to the bottom of the Pacific. I have lots of infantry divs and corps with LSTs but I can't get them out of the west coast until I have at least some form of decent escort. I tried doing it without and what a disaster it was when those LSTs got their hulls ripped apart by Japanese warships.

This one just shows that I landed one div in New Guinea and captured a VP city. This got no further then what it shows. I would need many more div first before I even think about trying to take New Guinea.

Here is my fleet setup in the Celebes. They have been here in this position for several turns, trying to support my landing infantry.

Not much has changed on the main map from above so I did not post it again this time. Well, the war continues... stay tuned...
