Crash: "parent unit not valid"

Post by Javolenus »

Started playing TOAW3. Built my own scenario. Keeps crashing with "parent unit not valid" message. What did I do wrong? Thanks in advance for help.

I know I saw the answer to this sometime somewhere but I'm afraid I can't find it now and I also can't find any notes in all of my notes that I have noted over the years. Hopefully someone else who knows will answer, or maybe you can post the Parent Unit Error question in the TOAW IV Tech Forum [because I think it was someone at IV who discovered the cure].

Thanks for this. Actually, I think I just solved this. Seems it was my error. I added a truck (motor transport) to a "static" Artillery unit in the Force editor. This seems to have caused the crash because when I removed the truck, everything was fine again. And so I created a "motorised" version of the artillery piece in an equipment editor that I downloaded, and now it's fine. Thanks again--appreciate your response.
