Korsun Pocket is a the second game using the award winning SSG Decisive Battles game engine. Korsun Pocket recreates the desperate German attempt to escape encirclement on the Russian Front early in 1944. The battle is a tense and exciting struggle, with neither side having a decisive advantage, as the Russians struggle to form the pocket, then try to resist successive German rescue efforts and last ditch attempts at breakout.

Hi! How is the AI of Korsun Pocket? I read on The Wargamer review that it has problems with supply lines (the reviewer wrote that germand could occupy the supply bases without any reaction from the russians). Is it true?

Merry Christmas,

AI is solid for KP. BiN AI is better than KP's ... BiI AI is much better still.

AI will give a good game to (and beat) most new players. KP uses a combination of start game scripts and active logic. It also plays the game as a historical commander would approach combat (AI has a command hierachy it follows closely).

AI in the DB series normally reacts ok to rear area attacks. AI battle groups are assigned missions in phases and they generally the follow orders well... This means if the scenario designer fails to assign supply source locations to an AI battle group regions of operation, the reaction may be slow at times.
