Awesome In-Game Screens

Achtung Panzer:Operation Star is an Eastern Front wargame with solid graphics and sprawling battlefields that really emphasize the scope of WWII tank combat. The gameplay is a remarkably realistic turn-based and real-time operational/tactical hybrid wargame that continues the series begun by the acclaimed Achtung Panzer: Kharkov 1943.

As the tracks in the soil show, the vehicle was reversing out of danger when it was hit, having seen the KV1 explode moments before. The body of the driver can be seen still inside the vehicle, while another crew member lies dead where he was shot after bailing out.

thx to your threads Redmarkus [;)]...I'm playing the same operation over and over again, sometimes i'll restart battles of the same operation. I play, i read threads, consult manual ect. ect. The basics i've got down pretty well trying to learn the deeper stuff, it's been fun along the way.One thing i can attest too is the AI does different things just about every time you replay. I had to play a battle over 4 times, kept getting that 001 critical error thing [anybody know what causes it?]
each time the AI was in different areas and responded differently to my plans...nice. The shift key thing works great, set different orders per waypoint and they show up on the op map if you click that circle button, the one that shows the command range, hit it twice i believe. Do you guys have nite battles turned off? Just about all my battles have been at nite. I'm still trying out different things in video settings to get the most out of my new but not high end laptop. I'm getting better at the op map play, you sure were right about putting some thought into which battles you fight first, big difference. Have a question about the op map, when i hover my cursor over a flame symbol there's little x's over units, am i to understand that signals which units will be involved in that battle? Anyway keep the informative threads coming we can all learn and pass the info on....god knows they need a much better manual[:'(] .. Thx again for making this game jump to the head of my gaming cue[:D]

Hey Budd.

That's great to hear and I'm glad the threads were helpful.

Regarding the critical error message, I had never seen it before yesterday. It might have had something to do with installing the 7c patch and then forgetting to create a new profile and delete the old one, or it may have been my video settings. I did a full re-install and created a new profile and so far (touch wood) it hasn't happened again.

Thanks for the tip about turning the show command range button on. I'll give that a try.

Yes, I do believe that the red X signs show the units that will take part in the battle. Knowing that and selecting the best flame/battle to start with is the key to the game - if you can get it so that your best units destroy the strongest enemy units present during the first battle, then you are able to exploit that subsequently.

Let us know how it goes because Andrey at Graviteam suggested this solution, so we can let him know as well.

My T34 spots an enemy Panzer. The AI then drops smoke rounds to veil its moves and the enemy tank is hidden from view. Sweet.

Move to a hull down position and engage enemy armor from the flank whenever possible. Be prepared to shoot and scoot.
