Why did they change the army units from the earlier Civil War games?

This sequel to the award-winning Crown of Glory takes Napoleonic Grand Strategy to a whole new level. This represents a complete overhaul of the original release, including countless improvements and innovations ranging from detailed Naval combat and brigade-level Land combat to an improved AI, unit upgrades, a more detailed Strategic Map and a new simplified Economy option. More historical AND more fun than the original!

Hello,

I am have not bought this game yet, but one of the things I didn't like on what I saw was the change from FOF and other earlier versions of the battle sprites at least looking like Line formations. This game has one sprite with indicator squares for line, etc. Why the change? The older units looked better in my opinion and would have been perfect for a Napoleonic game.

Anyway I am curious what the reason was and if there is a mod that changes the sprites, I would have loved a FOF version for Napoleonic period.
