How does LA compare to the Tin Soldiers

How does LA compare to the Tin Soldiers

Hi all,

I own Gates of Troy and Spartan. As well as both Tin Soldiers games and I really dig them all. How is LA like the Tin Soldiers games?

Is it comparable or better?

It's not really comparable. LA does the bit that Spartan didn't do, the tactical battles, but there is no strategic/city building layer. You do get to develop your army, which is rather more complicated and important to success than it sounds.

The nearest thing to it is probably the tactical portion of the 'Total War' games. IMHO LA is rather better if only because it plays out rather more historically. Don't expect 'Punic Wars' though.. it's very much an RTS wargame. Rather quicker than 'R' actually; most battles take five minutes or so.
