Any plans for a Steam release?

World in Flames is the computer version of Australian Design Group classic board game. World In Flames is a highly detailed game covering the both Europe and Pacific Theaters of Operations during World War II. If you want grand strategy this game is for you.

I would doubt it... I think the only Matrix game on Steam is close combat, and it is very "mature"

Steam would tear this game apart. Zero chance it makes it to Steam.

yes customer reviews is important on steam.

they would find bugs, or the supply calculation delay. and give it a bad review.

it would kill the game.

I assume that costumers here have voted with their feet. they complained, was not heard and just left

This is correct, the only people left are the diehards and the few people who check back every few months to see what the status of the $100 alpha is.

This is sad to hear. wish I noticed this before my post as I feel like my thread is probably redundant, but maybe the AI will have been improved despite some of the game’s other shortcomings.

Out of curiosity, what happened to this game? I recall reading that WiF was coming to PC years ago…. I think it was announced around the time Napoleon abdicated. ;)

So it feels like quite a few years of work went into the game and it still feels…. Incomplete.

Have any of you tried War Plan? very good game similar to Mwif, less detailed but similar feel only it actually works has Ai and pbem. I really wish wif would do something but its been what like 10 years and still nothing but a solitaire game which is ok but really!

hmmm I don't play solitaire at all... I have three games on the go with Netplay. I do wish NP had been made to handle 2+ players. Team Viewer is not always that great.

I'm may be a game of similar "scale" (hex scale), but by no means is as interesting (to me, at least).

I played one game of Warplan and never felt like playing a second one. Now I'm playing a multiplayer MWiF PBEM (using Dropbox and whatsapp), and I will want to start a new one straight away when this one is finished.

I'd be still playing MWiF if it was not for it being 'outdated' in the terms of WiF.

I simply moved on to Vassal and using the latest WiF edition stuff.

But yes - the game does not suit Steam, yet at least.
And while it is a niche game Steam would potentially expand its audience. So I hope a day it will get there.

MWIF has spoiled me in many ways. I have purchased the vassal module and tried, but I think I am too old and lazy to sort through the forcepools and set things up, let alone figure odds, supply and trade routes without the computer ai help.
