Hah! This is my second now. My current PC is a Haswell-E 5930K ordered in late 2014. It has been a real trooper for me, just upgraded the GPU numerous times, Memory once to 32MB, changed to NVME M.2 SSDs a couple years ago. I am pretty happy with their work, no complaints. Not cheap, but they are meticulous and support is good (although rare to need it).

Can a single install of the game have both the original map and the added bases in scenario 7?

Yes.

Base information is stored in the scenario file.

Edit: Just found out that I did not play the updated AI. So my post in this thread was misleading and I deleted it.

Hi all, I have played this game long time ago and I would like to give it a try again.

I am glad to see that scenarios are still updated!

Newbie question: are those updated scenarios compatible with the Unofficial Public Beta patch? Or better to keep them separated?

Thanks in advance

Scenario updates are compatible with the most recent patch, and the Beta too.

I got a question maybe not directly for this thread, but something that might be edited in some ways.
I focused on the Americal Division in game. It has 3 Rgt but one of them, 164th Rgt, is restricted to West Coast. It takes a whopping 700 PP to buy out so one could form the Americal Divsion.
Why is it restricted in the first place, since it did go out in the Pacific very early on ? I know PPs are set to stop players getting units out when they in real life might have stayed on the West Coast. Some units could be bought out with some medium PP penalty, but this unit was early on into to Pacific and formed the Americal Div. The other two regiments arrive later on, so why not this too ? And of course not restricted or forced to buy out with an insane number of PPs. ?? Historical the Division formed in May I think, so maybe changed arrivel dates on 164th then the others too.

Is it in the backmind that one should save huge amount of PPs the first months to be able to take this massive hit in March -42 ?
A good reason but a hard to swallow. I do have some points to spare, but this took planning.
If you haven't spotted this thing one might be stuck for several months.

Maybe just a newbie/rookie mistake, but but.

I spotted a minor fault.
Stumbling on a double.

7401 and 8804 are both xAK Vernon S. Hood arriving within 5 days (may -45), but not same place. One at Balboa the other at Alameda.
With that close enterdate it can't be a new ship named the same. They have everything similar.

This double is in all the different scenario. Like Sc01, 02 and 06 that I had a go at.

I take it that one could edit the DB oneself and give one of those a different name (even something real that might be missing) while still playing any of those scenarios. Will the ongoing play then pop up with no double Vernon ?

Also I might be wrong on this but I found a Col. Sims,A as an Army officer among the leaders. Now the one Sims I know was The Iron Duke that was in command of 7th Marines in the Batte of Henderson/Guadalcanal.
In my game a Col frisbie is command of the 7th Marine, but he only got the command after Guadalcanal.
I'm thinking on at least that Col Sims,A listed as US Army leader should be changed to US Marine officer.
Just to stop him turning in his grave angry over joining the Army

So Andy, while reloading WITP:AE this weekend, I noticed in my mod file storage all the older AndyMac AI files that were in .exe format.
My assumption is that I can delete all of them as you have included AI files with this thread's scenario stuff, is that correct?

Might be worth editing that thread with a note about them so new guys won't get confused.
Enjoying the new Scenario 7 so far, thanks again.

Hello Andy,

I am going to play a PBEM game with your scenario 7, can we know if any modifications are going to be released in the near future? (3-4 weeks at most).

Thanks in advance

Andy, please rename this thread to "Scen 1,2 and 7(scen1 with new bases)" or something. Right now scen7 is buried within the thread.

Scen001v5

Andy, could you please change TF422 (18th Div Reinf to Singapore) in Editor to:

Destination: Colombo
Home Port: Colombo
Do not Unload

This TF starts off-map, thus I never change the TF settings in game not to mess its routing.

This TF starts with no escorts ships. In my current playthrough I missed TF's entrance onto the map and only noticed this TF when a Jap CV TF decimated this TF off Sumatra on December 29 1941.

Changing the settings to Colombo/Do not Unload gives Allied player a chance to add escort ships in Colombo or reroute the TF to Burma if so needed.

Many thanks.

OK, thanks.

How does AI manage this TF though? If the TF sails without escorts to Singapore, it will get murdered by a human Jap CV TF.

Silly me. I thought changing routing for off-map TFs results in routing errors.
