As of this summer I'm working again, I'm slowly getting back. My live is slowly getting back to normal - what ever normal is these days. I always wanted to make a game, it was my dream. I worked on the game between contracts, until one day I thought maybe I could release it and Jorgen thought it would be a great idea. I worked on it for about 12 years. I'm happy that few people will be entertained by it.
Peter, like everyone here, I'm very glad to hear that you are getting better each and every day.

I just wanted to tell you how much I love this game that you created. It's the closest thing to having an ASL game on the computer (apart from VASL) and it is no small accomplishment on your part.
You've brought much more then "entertainment" to a few people. You've created a community of great folks who LOVE what you have designed.
I mean if it wasn't for you, why Rico would have had to find another outlet to torture all of us with his incredibly fiendish designs that he does so on a regular basis!

So to you, my fellow Canadian, I wish you good health as well as believing that your best days are yet to come!
The only thing good about war, is it's ending!

Thank you, Dear Canadian friends, for three reasons:
- for this word from John David, full of friendship and gratitude addressed to Peter, which I share;
- for what Peter has accomplished with TotH, and thus allowed many others to express themselves through their creations (mods, scenarios, campaigns);
- to be from this great friendly country whose soldiers (46th Battalion, South Saskatchewan) liberated my city (Valenciennes, in the North of France) on November 2, 1918.
I wish You Peace and Health, as well as to all Yours,

Lilian (LN59) :)

I guess it's time I tried this again. I've had it since it came out but never got past the first or second tutorial.

Anyway, Rico - you've made more scenarios than I'll ever play and I hope your humour can last. (I don't know how to do that yellow/blue colour bit)

It's simple:

Click on the button with the "drop" icon (before the font size drop-down menu)
A palette will be displayed and you will be able to select any color you like

(unfortunately, yellow is not very easy to read on a light grey background)

Thanks.

By coincidence I read Siegfried Sassoon's "The Old Century" last week.

You are right about the colours.

I also find black on dark red/maroon (usually Russians) hard to read.

Ukrainia 2

Dniepr River, Kiev, Ukraine 1946-01-11.
1945, Poland, Romania and Ukraine freed themselves from the Soviet yoke and appealed to the Americans.
The USSR (Russia, Belarus and Moldova) responded by invading Ukraine.
The Americans counter-attack from Poland and Romania and are forced to retreat due to lack of supplies.
Canadian Forces led by Commander Lilian Yellowblue take over and succeed in seizing the last intact bridge over the
Dniepr north of Kiev. A column of approaching Soviet armor is reported to the North.
Meanwhile, veteran Polish paratroopers from Arnhem have jumped southest of Kiev and are already in the suburbs, led
by Major Zelenski.

Attacker: Canadian/Polish
Attacker: Russian

Best played on Canadian/Polish SIDE first / with LOS: 14 Hexes / with RULE: Choose a Side / with MOD: Yours / etc.

Scenario Length: 10 Game Turns
Victory objective: The side with the required Victory Points is the winner. Both sides gets VPs for owning VP Objectives.

Very honored, Rico, by this "dedicated" scenario which I perhaps don't deserve. Unfortunately, given the small experience
of the old retired history teacher that I am, I find that reality almost always exceeds fiction.
Worse.
There is still little hope, provided you know how to keep a cool head and your finger away from the trigger or the fatal key:

"There are only two powers in the world: the sword and the spirit.
By the spirit I mean the civil and religious institutions.
In the long run, the sword is always beaten by the spirit
."

Only problem: the author of this quote is a "professional of the profession", quoted by Emmanuel de Las Cases
in his 'Mémorial de Sainte-Hélène': Napoléon Bonaparte...
I prefer the non-apocryphal one by Sir Philip Snowden (1864-1937) and not by Rudyard Kipling:

"The first victim of a war is the truth".

As well as a great song from 1985, still relevant...

Sincerely and very peacefully,

Hi Raybert1123,

Wish I had the time for more scenarios but I'm busy with Campaign Series Vietnam and Campaign Series Middle East +.

There are a lot of good scenarios out there for ASL whether you play the board game or VASL. I like VASL because it doesn't take up that much space. I can also play at my leisure.

Squad Battles from WDS is another favorite! Some good potential there and it's moving forward.

Tigers on the Hunt was a great game for its time 7 years ago. But for medical reasons involving the creator it didn't move forward and that's understandable. Hey tough break for the creator and all of us!
But if it had a team behind it, the potential is endless, just saying.

Maybe throw a couple of scenarios together Raybert1123 and see if you spark some interest!

Kind regards,
Big Ivan

Greetings TotH Folks,

Attached is a pack of 5 scenarios I've been working on over the past few months. They are all based on existing Advanced Squad Leader (ASL) scenarios that caught my eye on the net or in VASL. The ones I tested seem to play OK but I haven't tested them all so any opinions will be welcome.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!!

I just stumbled upon this today - thanks for the resource!

What I cannot figure out is how to open the ,scn files in the zip folders.

I have tried using Wordpad and text editor, all I get are pages of ASCII symbols.

I tried using two programs that claim to convert .scn to graphics files (.jpg or .png). N WOn;t convert them.

Iam clearly missing something, and a search of this site isn't revealing a solution. please help? Thanks.

Why would you want to open the .scn file?

I misunderstood what these were. I thought they were scenarios individuals developed for ASL. I see now they are not.
